I'd agreee with Skan as person, but...Place: Now if Larry said the 
TRILOGIES and not the last books in each were connected, we've already 
seen Place and Thing! Place: Urtho's Tower in BG and SR. Thing: the 
thingy they do in SR (sorry...I read it once before ledning it...) and 
maybe its mentioned in BG (same prob)? BTW, is Velgarth still kosher 
considering iot was only mentioned once? I mean, it isn't that good a 
name nor does she use it often nor do the characters seem to know of the 
name. We should keep using it, probably, but does Mistyy still like it?

Geography never was one of my better subjects (C on the exam)...but, 
isn't it that square-like state above that big one...erm...Texas? And 
above OK is Kansas? And aren't those in the middle of the country? So is 
it the Middle, and Mid-West is further to the left? (sorry non-US folks 
who are thinking "Those idotic 'Merkins...don't even know their own 
countries geography!")

Real life has interfered with my existence long enough!  Here are various
thoughts....

re: Tarma's voice/Leslie Fish.  I knew Fish's work long before I read any
of ML, so when I hit the description in Oathbreakers I knew *exactly*
who it referred to.  I grant you she sounds like elegant gravel, but I
can't imagine Tarma sounding any other way.

re: Darkwind  I think Gyrfalcon has hit on the main element (i.e. the
Tayledras commitment to land, rather than people), but I think that there
also may have been a simple dearth of extra Companions.  After all, most
of the eligible Valdemarans have been being scooped up to replace those
lost in the war with Ancar.

re:  Death of the MOC.  It occurs to me that the survival of the MOH,
should the MOC die, with enough stability to accept a new Companion fresh
from the Grove, could be an indication that the MOC's are all the same
spirit... (Yes, I know, I'm obsessessing again :->)  If the bond hasn't
been truly broken, then the MOH doesn't feel quite as bereft as most
Heralds would if their Companions die.

re: Wicca/religion  I didn't mind the Wicca/pentagram discussion.  It
gave me some insight into Diana Tregarde. (so it felt pretty much on-topic).

re: literary criticism....hmm, I did say *short* comments, didn't I?...
Yes, I think the best stuff Misty has done concentrates on a single
character, or a small number of characters.  I'd like to see more
short stories, though.  Lots more short stories....

re:  "you wrote"     WHO wrote?  
re: snipping long sigs         please do.  Rynath, I love your sig, but
it gives the computer at work horrible hiccups and makes it skip ahead
four or five screens every time it appears.  If it weren't for getting
the digests at home, I'd never know what your messages say!  And when
it appears in copied form on a reply, the darn screen skips ahead six
or seven times!  Yaargh!!!!!  :)

re: Silver Gryphon.   nice.  

re: the midwest and fantasy.  I lived in Omaha and Denver for years, and
could usually find anything I needed to find, but it was because I spent
most of my high school years haunting anything that looked like a con,
making friends and locating hole-in-the-wall bookstores.  On main street
you can get some pretty strange looks.

re: the Bardic Gift.  I suspect that Vanyel has a small bit of it, and
does use it, albeit unconsciously, when he is posing as a minstrel. But
instead of using it to make people "feel the song" he is concentrating
on "I'm just a minstrel, I'm harmless, please like me," kinds of thoughts.
Remember how surprised he was by the help he got from the people in
MPromise when he had to escape Highjorune?  I think his Bardic gift --
or maybe Empathy -- makes him friends even when he isn't trying to 
make friends.

	Yes! That accordian music is soooo absolutely wonderful. It's 
happy music, I always want to go and do silly polka dances when I hear 
it. About music in Valdemar, do they have pianos, or harpsichords, or 
anything like that? I hadn't heard of any, but it seems like they should 
be there. All the instruments I remember hearing are the wind instruments 
and some drums.

I wonder when _Tempest Fugit_ is coming out.  Is Larry writing it

Uhh...but you have to realize, which part of the Bible?  The Old 
Testament or the New Testament?  The New Testament is comprised mostly of 
things found recently while the old obviously dates back when it was 
written, around 100 AD.
