My mom never really set a bedtime fro me once I was past, oh, 12, but when it got to be 2:30 or 3:00 am she'd put her foot donw and force me off to bed. Fooled her. One of the best things I've ever bought myself was one of those little bookcovers/lights. Well, Rynath, I happen to enjoy making candles, so maybe one of these days I'll send you some. I used to pretend my room was a medieval chamber and light it with candles, hang tapestires on the walls (really, they were just pretty beachtowels, but oh well...) and I even tried to make mead in my closet once. It exploded and ruined my clothing, but that's another story... I have to wear reading glasses, so I'm not worried about the blind part. It's just that OLD thing that worries me... ObMisty: There appear to be no drinking age restrictions in Valdemar. I wonder if any trainees ever tried to make mead in their closets... Also, Rynath is still old in Valdemar. I'm probably really annoying all you depressed people because I'm feeling really perky right now, it's not that bad, just think how much more annoying I would be in person telling you to cheer up! Well, that's an idea, where did you say all you depressed people live? Just wait, I'll show up on your doorstep with baloons, flowers, and teddy bears, and an eternally perky mood! I think I drank too much coffee and Dr. Pepper today.... OBMisty: They don't have baloons in Valdemar, how can they have birthing day celebrations without balloons?! The storm troopers must have seen the blaster fire coming at them and purposely misdirected their shots so as not to invalidate the rule. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 May 1996 20:00:11 -0700 From: kadessa-+AT+-ix.netcom.com (Leah M Postrech) To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-vanyel.herald.co.uk Subject: Re:booklovers Message-ID: <199605030300.UAA18386-+AT+-dfw-ix8.ix.netcom.com> (snip) > We did have ones I hated though. I **really** hated it. It practically put my to sleep whenever I tried to read it. Took me forever to finish. (Gee, now that I think about it, all my AP books seem to have the same affect on me. They're really good for insomnia. :)) If I had had to read it twice, I shudder to think what may have occured ((Not that I would really burn a book, of course, but a girl can dream, can't she? :))) Question: Is your name pronounced 'lee-ah? The reason I'm asking is that my real name is Leah, pronounced^^^^. :) I was almost named Leia, but my dad didn't like it for various reasons. Oh, welcome to the list. And Warning: This is extremely addictive. Whatever life I had before this list and the internet is becoming nearly non-existent! First, I have a question: Has anyone read "GhostLight" by Marion Zimmer Bradley? And what about "The year's best FANTASY & HORROR" (8th annual collection)? Are they any good? Should I read them? Second, I think I'd better sign up with all the other SDMFs. Looks like I'm going to be going to my grad dance stag! WAHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Third, (yes, I can count!!) as for all of you who've been wondering what happened to all the mail, I've been wondering that myself. I feel better knowing that it's not just me! Could it be that no one's been sending much lately, plus the system's kinda delayed? (My own messages are coming back to me v-e-r-y slowly.) If the second part is true, and everything's just been piling up, then whenever the rest of the mail comes flooding in, RUN!! Here's number four: for the location question, I'm in Beautiful British Columbia, Canada. Hey, relating back to my second point, anybody else here living near me wanna come to my grad with me?!?! All my guy friends are already with dates!! :( Numero cinq: Cennydd, HTH, if the wedding's still on, make sure you get one of 'em ten decker cakes! There's no such thing as a party without CAKE!! And lastly : Glancing back at my last post, I can't believe I had a typo on my own name. GODDESS!! Best wishes, Midnite Whisper (Ha! Spelt it right this time!) ------------------------------ End of MERCEDES-LACKEY Digest 529 *********************************
