Can anyone prove me wrong? CCandlestick, Conservatory, Mustard. Rambling #7 To all of you who have lost pets, I really deeply send my apologies. I know how rough it is. We had to put my kitty to sleep 7 months ago, and I still cry about her whenever I think about her. Pets are some of the wonderfullest things in the world. Someone whi will always have an ear to listen, comfort to give, and loads of affection. All they ask is love, the perfect friend. We still have one cat, (His Royal Highness Prince Fluff But) and I love him dearly (he's quite a character), but I've never felt as close to him. I think that a special bonding occurs between you and your pet, when the pet is more of a friend that a pet, a special bond that doesn't happen with every pet, which makes it even harder when they die. My kitty would know when I was sad, and come purring and give me all the comfort I needed, and plenty of affection. Whenever I had an injury, she would try to clean it for me, and act motherly. She was just the sweetest little thing, I miss her alot. Actually, alot doen't even begin to describe how much I miss her, I don't think I could feel worse if my parents died. I better stop writing now, before I depress myself, because it takes a while to get myself out of it. I don't want to depress myself or anyone else. That's the end of my ramblings. Have a nice night everybody. *^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_*^_ Lady Becky, Goddess of Stress & Dry Breakfast Cereals Everybody wants prosthetic forheads on their real heads *They*Might*Be*Giants* ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 14 Jun 1996 02:07:53 -0600 From: Trouble To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-vanyel.herald.co.uk Subject: Re: braid #2: sexism in Valemar?/ Etiquette Message-ID: <19960614080747404.AAA200-+AT+-wildrose.net> At 03:08 06/13/96 +0100, JSteinb103-+AT+-aol.com wrote: Oh good. Because if it does, my fiance and I can claim it, but we were told that we probably couldn't because he works further north (where it is hotter... But then, there is no wind in Gainford, it's all here, where its COLD) for the summer, and that's four months apart. I'm only wondering because if it does, he can claim me as a dependent on his student loan next year, and perhaps we won't spend all year eating macaroni again. *sigh* Or, perhaps we could just have a kid. I may not know you yet, but I think everyone should be getting married, or finding their lifemate or partner or someone to make them happy... You know, someone to go cloud watching with. *smile* Someone at some point made the comment about how we should have life-bondings here, like they do in Valdemar, and then we'd all have someone. I don't agree with this (I may have misunderstood. Long day). Not everone in Valdemar is lifebonded. I'm so glad Mercedes Lackey changed it -- In her first group of novels, you could pretty much guarantee that the main character would find their life bonded, as in AotQ, BTS, the gryphon books, and (perhaps) Outhbreakers. I don't get the impression that this is going to happen in the Storm Warning/Rising/Breaking books (I want to say more, but I don't know what the etiquette on here is for possible spoilers...), and it was emphasized that Skif and Nyara weren't lifebonded in the Mage Winds triology. I liked that. But as I was saying about lifebonded, I think it does happen here. I "knew" Mark before I ever met him, and the first time I looked in his eyes, I was so startled by that recognizion that I could barely meet his eyes the rest of the time. We both... resonate? I *know* when something's wrong, and he always seems to known when I need him to call, when he's up North. (Like today. Bad day. Bad, COLD, day...) Shoot. The phone rang, and I forgot what else I was going to say. Something to do with a show I watch. Goddess, I have got to start taking the phone off the hook. And are these two just reverse sides of one supreme > being? I think so, but I'm not sure. Possible but unlikely given the evidence - Deities seem to be fairly local - Vkandis looks after Karse, the Star eyed looks after the shin'a'in, and whoever it is in Iftel looks after Iftel. And some of the Tarma and Kethry stories imply that you can create at least godlings given enough believers. On the other hand, there's the Star eyed quotes in _Oathbreaker_ - something like *well met, children of my other self* and something about Kethry's deity being another aspect (??). So there's some evidence both ways - but they seem to _behave_ as different deities anyway. -- _|_ / | Jerry Cullingford jc-+AT+-crosfield.co.uk (Work) \_|_ jc-+AT+-selune.demon.co.uk (Home) \__/ Hemel Hempstead, UK jerry-+AT+-shell.portal.com (alternate) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 14 Jun 1996 09:45:02 +0100 From: Lady Wintersong To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-vanyel.herald.co.uk Subject: Re: Arizona Message-ID: <9606140845.AA21036-+AT+-vanyel.herald.co.uk> > Dearie, I don't feel all that sorry for you. :( First of all, >you are lucky that AZ is so DRY.
