Need said that they were probably before, because she didn't remember anything about the Kaled'a'in, IIRC (sorry, no txtevd). They would probably not have been affected by the Mage storms, 'cause (again IIRC, and I'm not sure I do) wasn't the Sisterhood wiped out, with only Need and that girl left? I just had a thought, though. If Need became a sword before the mage storms, wouldn't she have felt the storms and woken up, and therefore remember them when they came up later? I was the one complaining that they took out what made it a classic. Here's the scary thing. I got shanghaied it seeing it with my sweetie and his 5 year old daughter. And I liked it. I'm so ashamed. The problems that I mentioned are still extant (Cenydd, did I get the usage of that word correct, I'm trying to be as correct as I can in my phrasing.) but the music was WONDERFUL, they got Claude Frollo's ATTITUDE correct, even though they stuck in an extra priest and made Frollo a judge, and they made it a happy ending even though in the book, Phoebus dies, Esmerelda gets hanged (hung?), Quasimodo throws Frollo over the side of Notre Dame, and later kills himself, and there are no gargoyle friends. Not to mention the total lack of any hearing disability in Quasimodo, even though he's around these phenomenally loud bells, all day, all night, all year, every year. Go see it. Know that they got it wrong. Leave the kids at home, it's kind of scary, and boring for the kids. Then go be entranced by the wonderful job that they did on the animation and the music. Notice particularly the song "God Save the Outcasts" done by Esmerelda, and Frollo's song (sorry, I can't remember it's name.) which gave me major goosebumps. On one hand, I feel it would be welcome and on the other, I worry that there's no anything after death. I'll probably die in some really stupid way-like, I'm coming out of the ladie's room, and I slip on a pool of water outside the door and crack my head on the water fountain, and break my fool neck. (from Sylver Dove) THE KEYBOARD IS HANDED OVER: I'm not too terribly afraid of death as I believe in reincarnation. What I fear is dying in pain. I abhore pain. Getting a tattoo was about the outer limits of my pain tolerance. (Never let anyone tell you that doesn't hurt! It feels like someone drawing on your flesh with an electric carving knife! #-+AT+-!%$-+AT+-$# muttering at one Sylver Dove.)I also don't want to die young. I've got so many things I want to do and see in this lifetime that it would really bite the big one to die young and have to start all over again when I felt I wasn't even done with the previous life. As long as I die peacefully and at a ripe old age, I think I'll be happy to go on to whatever awaits me in the next life. THE KEYBOARD IS ONCE AGAIN PASSED OVER: The one way I know I don't want to die is in a fire. How awful would that be?! Way too much pain for my liking. I'm with Shadow-Lover on this one, Death by water wouldn't be too bad. What my wonderful friend here, with the bony ankles, neglects to mention is that a tattoo hurts much less if you get it done on a fleshy area of your body. I got it done first, and I got it done on my breast. So, naturally, it didn't hurt very much. I came out and told her it didn't hurt, and she went back and got it done on her ankle... which, I'm sure, is much more painful. You should have heard the name I got called!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, you could suffocate them (txtevd, too--AFall, Chap.4, pg.92 ^^...and showed her how; how to move live creatures without smothering them, without twisting them up inside.^^) So basically, you could just try to fetch the person, and if you don't do it right, they're pretty much goners. What WAS misty thinking when she came up with it? Yes, yes...I've gone into that before)....and, iirc, at the end og SR, don't they use an artifact of urtho's? and aren't the shin'a'in guardin g the dhorhisa plains because those artifacts are active? So doesn't that mean the artifacts aren't affected by the storms? It sounds possible to me. Of course, I don;t think we have any OTHER pre-magewar sentient artifacts to compare to. IMO, another sign that Need's sisterhood worshipped the star-eyed is the fact she's working closely with them. *-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-* Korendil, Knight of Elfhame Sun-Descending, Squire of the High Court, Magus Minor, One In Black, Firstborn Child of Danaan, God of All Things Nocturnal, Bibliomaniac, Ailurophile, #Macintosh Op, and #Asgard Co-Owner. _____________________________________________________________________________ Email: korendil-+AT+-icubed.net |~You build worlds with steel and stone Email: jon_rubin-+AT+-bam_online.tfnet.com|/ I build worlds with words alone~ IRC: Korendil on #macintosh; Undernet|--Heather "ICSTPAMISLG" Alexander *-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-*-+AT+-* ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 Jun 96 21:42:17 EDT From: Korendil To: "Misty List" Subject: Re: Repost: Top Ten List #1 Message-ID: <9606290142.AA27462-+AT+-raptor.icubed.net> >Hey, they're not all that bad. Here are some subtler ones: Fetch an air bubble into the blood stream. Form a blood clot in the brain and cause a stroke (not necessarily fatal, though) Use fetching to hold the heart perfectly motionless. Fetch something slippery into someone's path and then use fetching to make sure that their head hits the ground with enough force to kill them. And here are two that are not at all subtle, but very horrific: Fetch water into the respiratory system (and hold it there). Fetch their blood out of them via the skin's capillaries. God, I can't believe I am coming up with these, but in my defense I am reading Simon Green's "Deathstalker" and he is truly the master of horrific fates.
