It seems kind of undignified! Lighten up. I never noticed the Heralds worrying about their dignity. They seem to be more interested in getting the job done and enjoying themselves. I remember several times they were pairing off just for the fun of it. The mares seemed to be the most interested in getting together with the stallions. Heat didn't seem to matter either. My mailbox only had 100 slots in it there. I haven't tested this one yet, but it is big. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- >>(in response to Sandy, attribution, please...] > >Jake, what's up with starting with ( and ending with ] ? Just like how some people post .sig's that are 20 lines long, I must use different {[('s. No? *sigh* It's because the "(" and "[" characters look almost identical on this font I'm using for e-mail. There we go, Jake! Better. I had no idea I was doing that, BTW. ------------------------------------- >I think the only reason we're getting into all this is because we're anxious >for some more good Misty stuff...yeah, I suppose the list has gotten a >*leetle* bit OTP recently, >but hey, meaningless chatter is better than no chatter at all. ;) *gryn* Indeed! The official newsletter encourages everybody to call her this. She's more comfortable with it. Now there's a *great* retelling, so sue me if it's in the YA section. I've been reading Adult books since I was 10, and it's not all it's cracked up to be. I've reread several of those YA books now that I'm ancient, and many of them are still excellent, Beauty being a case in point. >Spencer Aloysius See, now there's a cool name. Mostly I'm annoyed when you've got, say, Taric, Fionnula, Siobhan, Caomhin, and . . . Ann. Or Tom. Drives me nuts. Yes, it sets up a cultural premise, though if they're going to mix it with, you know, H'Belliandryk'k'wymikl, I wish it'd either be all made-up names or culturally related names. 'Nother pet peeve (Pet peeve? I don't have a pet peeve! I have a peeve FARM!!!) is fantasy mixing of, say, Tojiro and Mei-Ling. OK, it's fantasy, I guess they have a right, but "mainstream" authors have no excuse for "the Japanese girl, Tan Tsao Chang." What?!?!? Just like me; my hair's three feet long and I braid it for Gung Fu class, where tonight I got royally clobbered in sparring. First time I ever got hit by a kick . Speaking of which, one more thing on Tiger Balm. Yes, it's not as common in the US. Americans tend to be leery of things with "foreign writin'" on them . Also, it's pretty darn expensive, at least in my little town. As for Dit Da Jow, that's not a medicine, it's a school of medicine. The Dit Da Jow alcohol treatment is very effective. I don't know about the commercial version, but the homemade treatment my Sifu makes is very potent, and shouldn't be messed with lightly. It is poisonous if ingested, and can damage your body if you don't wash it off properly. Is there a chance in heck that I could get something out of my Herald file? namely, the My Lady's Eyes parody. My notebooks are missing from my locker, and I'm VERY upset. Stupid server was down for 3hrs last night. Boy am I behind.
