That name up there is my mother. I have my own name, which I do not wish to reveal right at this moment. I've been a Mercedes Lackey fan forthree years now, ever since my friend let me read Vows and Honor. I haven't read any of the Serrated Edge books, and I don't think I want to, considering the reviews I have read. I have read these series: Vows and Honor, Last Herald-Mage, Queen's Own, By the Sword (okay, so this ISN'T a series!), Mage Winds, what's out there of Mage Storms, Mage Wars, Bardic Voices, and Bedlam's Bard. I think I just nearly covered them all. I read Tiger Burning Bright, which M.L. co-wrote with Marion Zimmer Bradley and Andre Norton. That was a GREAT book. Highly recommended. I am really into music, but I can only play the piano. I'd like to learn how to play the lute or the harpsicord sometime. My favorite trilogy was The Last Herald-Mage, which I am currently reading-- again! If they were making a movie out of that, I think Leonardo DiCaprio would be great for Tylendel, and for the older Vanyel, Pierce Brosnan. Susan Sarandon would make a great Savil, I think. For Vows and Honor and By the Sword, Michelle Pfeiffer would be a great Kethry, Angela Bassett for Tarma, and Nicole >Kidman for Kerowyn. For Queens own, Nana Visitor (from Star Trek: Deep >Space 9 as Major Kira Nerys) as older Talia, for Dirk, Tom Cruise (I know, >he's supposed be not-so-good-looking!) and as Kris, the guy who played Doctor Bashir on DS9 (help me out, you Trekkies out there!). Well, I hope you didn't fall asleep during my little intro. Hope to hear from you all! From what I've read, it seems as though most of you all are divided between 14 & 15 yr.olds and people over 20. Anybody out there my age (18)? Furthermore, did anyone actually enjoy the SERRAted Edge books? I kind of did. On Tue, Jul 9 the Kims were talking about why Companions would choose to be reincarnated instead of remaining in the Havens. Well, most Heralds have a fanatic devotion to their sense of duty. And since there are so few of them, they rarely get any time to do nothing. So they are more used to saving the kingdom thantaking it easy. That same sense of duty compels them to choose reincarnation. IMHO. Comments? In JH, he's not dead yet, but is dying... > >- Sal wow, you won't believe this. I was absolutely POSITIVE Lenny was dead in JH. I even went to get textevd. And there I was, typing in a paragraph from page 38, when I decided to read ahead....where it said he *was* alive. Oops;P Doesn't sound like he has much longer, though.... After typing that, it should prompt you for a name, which you can then change to make it say whatever you want it to. (I dont change mine to "Dass" cuz this is also my work account.) One sec ::reaches up:: Ok..bak...now gimme a sec to find it--oops, not irc. Well, who cares;P Well, haven't found it yet, but found one interesting tidbit, Rising, page 124: "All his adult life he had cherished a secret longing, born when he had learned about his ancestor Vanyel and the love and lifebonding that had lasted through time and across the ages with his beloved TYlendel-Stefen." So obviously the Hawkbrothers made sure others knew of the fact it was the same person, even if they never told Van, and let him figure it out for himself. ANyway, on with the search....whoah, same page he said the lifebonded pairs...only two: Talia and Dirk; and Sherill and Keren....I'll find the quote yet!;P OK, I can't find it, and I'm sick of skimming Rising, so let someone else search;> It goes along the lines of "Talia and Dirk, who were mature adults and parents of two--much too old to be acting like romantic teenagers."
