It's a very sad case...very romantic, though...they just never get the chance to all meet. BTW, Speaking of wink links in the plot...did we ever see any other signs Sherrill was SHAYCH, let alone interested in Ylsa and Keren, before the night ylsa died? Braiding?! I work from Eudora Light, can anyone help me figure out how to braid? Told ya I didn't know anything about computers! hehe.. If any of you decide to take the challenge of helping an incredible novice, please explain in VERY simple terms...hehe. ------------- I thought that Sherrill (sp?), Ylsa, and Keren played a fairly important part in Talia's life, so even if they weren't featured characters, their lifebond fit in ok. Sherrill was Talia's closest friend almost, and Keren was her mentor, and Ylsa..well.. So they did play a very important part in Talia's life, and the shaping of who she was..not to mention they saved her life. But why the three-way lifebond?..maybe JUST to have something new and interesting thrown in? That's a good purpose for it, :) ------------- There's SO many great characters out there in the fantasy world that I would love to meet..like I said before, Vanyel would still be my number one choice. But I got to thinking, and I think YFANDES would be even better to meet. People are great and all...but to actually meet a companion would be faboo! Happy Reading! Think of..of SONGS of horribly pathetic puns<<< OK, now I just want to say something here. I *like* PA! Oh, his Xanth stuff did get completely ludicrous and unreadable, but lets not forget that he has written huge volumes of stuff that had nary a pun in it. Macroscope is a great novel, as is Mute and the Hasan. He also wrote Tatham Mound which is a fascinating novel about pre-Columbian civilizations in Florida and meso-America. I don't know if anyone on this list knows this, but one of his charity projects is funding an archeological dig in Florida at Tatham Mound. Yeah, the Xanth books have become extremely irritating, but at least they generate a lot of money and allow Piers to do some of the cool things that he does. -----EOM On Sun, 14 Jul 1996, Jake wrote: BOM>>>Subject: Piers Anthony as a Bard?! >>>Problem: I see no talent or creativity lately coming from the prolific Mr. Anthony. Maybe in _A Spell For Chameleon_ he had something but stuff like _Centaur Aisle_ and _Night Mare_ were just TERRIBLE. *sigh*<<< Hmmmm. I liked Centaur Aisle and Night Mare. I didn't become disenchanted until Golem in the Gears. BTW, has anyone read any of his virtual reality books? Are they any good or are they just more of the same punnish drek that Xanth became? -----EOM On Sun, 14 Jul 1996, Undine wrote: BOM>>>Subject: Re: Cool bookstores, karmic debts >>>Thank you. I'd wish for the offending publishers to come back as slugs but I do believe that that would be a step up for them. Could you also do something about alleged book critics? The ones that write scathing reviews of genre titles because the books aren't pretent-ah-because the books don't show enough literary merit. Oh to be Kali...<<< Hmmmm. Well, I will see what I can do. Maybe if I arranged for you to come back as Kali Durga, you could bring about the start of the Kali Yuga and then do what ever you liked with your enemies? Hmmmm. Of course, they would still have a rather large karmic burden to work off, but I suppose I could make sure that they came back as...oh, I don't know...cafeteria workers in a very rich and pretentious high-school? Or a decorator for a nouveau riche couple with no taste? I'll think of something. =) -----EOM On Sun, 14 Jul 1996, Summersong wrote: BOM>>>Subject: Another Casting Suggestion >>>Vanyel: Charlie Sheen (the older -- possibly in Mprice?)<<< Ech! Charlie is too bulky and well-fed looking (even at his buffest!). Van was supposed to be whip-thin and otherworldly. Talia: Kirsten Dunst, Samantha Mathis, Nana Visitor (age progression) No, NO, NOOOO!!!!! Kirsten is going to play "The Brat"! She has to! -----EOM On Sun, 14 Jul 1996, Mandy wrote: BOM>>>Subject: Hello! Welcome to the list, Mandy. Life here may be a bit weird, but it sure is fun. Those Who Hunt the Night was brill! Don Simon Ysidro is probably my fave vampire ever! He is the standard against which I measure every other vampire character. And frankly, I have never found even one that measures up. >>>And PLEASE someone tell me what the big deal is about Andre! <<< I don't know. I mean, he certainly is no Don Simon. =) For that matter, the first time I read about him, I got the impression that he might have been a rip-off of Henry FitzRoy in Tanya Huff's Blood series. -----EOM On Mon, 15 Jul 1996, Kimberly wrote: BOM>>>Subject: Mark Shepard, Welcome Mandy, ice cream >>>ObMisty: I was jsut out eating sorbet and despeartely trying not to have it drip all over me... so, is there any ice cream in Velgarth?<<< I am sure there is. After all, the annual Herald Jamboree and Picnic at the Lake Evendim resort just would not be the same without the ice-cream eating contest. =) You really do need to read Storm Signals! The scene where Selenay is showing Daren her patented hot-dog eating technique and gets catsup on her whites is great! Seriously, I can't see any reason they wouldn't have icecream in Velgarth. It isn't like ice cream is a product of high techno societies. There has been ice cream around for ages.
