Once I have a rough draft written, then it's fine for me to take it to computer and finish it there, but until that point I do everything by hand. To Catwoman: I'm sorry to hear about the death of your pet. It's always hard to loose a loved one. We have 4 cats; our oldest and dearest, Spencer, is a 6 year old with heart problems. All of our cats are like members of the family. I know it's going to devastate me when each of them has to go, but especially Spencer. Jake wrote: >The short story, I agree, was TERRIBLE. It turned out I LOVED the music and thought the story was a waste of good paper. >Yes, Kory, but writing and drawing are not mutually exclusive. There are a LOT of sci-fi/fantasy characters I'd like to meet. As for Misty's characters in particular, I'd love to meet: In Velgarth: Tylendel&Stefen and Vanyel (swoon; I wouldn't be able to resist, despite the hideous Curse of the Pink Wand), Kris, Nyara, Darkwind, Firesong, Kethry and Warl, Amberdrake, Treven and Hydonna, Amberdrake and Gesten and Urtho and Kechara. (I can't believe no one seems to want to meet Urtho!) Other Misty Fantasy: Di and Andre, Kory, Eric and Beth, The entire bunch of the free bards at the Kingston Faire! In other fantasy: Star Trek: Picard, Data, Dax, Laxana Troi (and I'd love to take a swim with George and Gracie!) Other authors: Rache, Mitrian, Shadimar, Corby, Arwen and Nightfall- Mickey Zucher Reichert. Crista Cruitaire and Judith, Vanessa and Christopher and Natil and the new generation of elves in Strands of Sunlight- Gael Baudino Aeron- Patricia Kennealy Garth, Roland the gunslinger, Eddie, Odetta and Jake- Stephen King. (Yes, he does write the occasional Fantasy.) There are probably dozens of others that aren't coming to mind immediately, but this post is long enough already. Not the part about the "adult" vs. "child" thing, but I did wonder myself if you were asking (rather elliptically) for details about what I meant by trip him. If you had asked, I would have told you that it didn't have anything to do with what you seem to think it did. I meant that he kept standing off from me and I basically had to almost trip him and sit on him to get him to listen to me long enough to realize that he wasn't going to hurt me or destroy my spirit or something. You should have assumed that anyway. I am not in the habit of discussing the details of my sex life in a public forum. At least, not one that isn't about sexuality issues (I have been known to answer questions about it, if asked, when I am doing Lesbian/Gay Awareness Programs at my university). I am not ashamed of it, but I also am a great believer in the old adage of "there is a time and a place for everything." In the meantime, I am saving his contributions, but will not be adding them to the archives until the matter is settled. My name is Virille Saranson of the Broken Bone Hradani, Cennyd recommended that I introduce myself and give a little run down of my abilities, where I come from, and whatnot. So, here goes... A hradani is one of the Five Races of Man from David Weber's Oath of Swords. They closely resemble humanoid foxes and were once one of the most peaceful races in the world. However, dark mages altered them, making them ravening monsters using their incredible strength to kill rather than to build. The mechanism by which the dark mages controlled the hradani was called the Rage, an uncontrollable explosion of fury so powerful that it warped all magic around it. As the centuries passed, the hradani slowly came to control the Rage, using it rather than be used by it, and a deep, abiding hatred for evil mages resulted. As most hradani have never encountered a *good* mage, they usually assume that all mages are evil. Virille rather closely parallels Bahzell, in that he encountered Wencit of Run, the last of the White Wizards and a true Wild Mage, who was capable of dissipating the Rage and working magic in Virille's presence, so it CAN be done, but not easily by mortals. Virille is jerked over to this reality by an inadvertant interaction of a gate spell with the fabric of reality, causing a "hole" in the space-time continuum and pulling him to the world of the Mage War. He is currently unaffiliated, but Tomanak, of whom he is a champion and who is the God of Justice, War, and Rulership, has already instructed him to do battle with the Men in White, it remains to be seen how he reacts to the other groups. BTW, Cennyd, don't be absolutely sure that *all* of your magic will effect Virille, only those spells which do not result in either control or damage have any chance of success, except when wielded by a greater deity. Other forms of magic, if properly cast, can effect him. In addition, most magical items not attuned to the Rage will be temporarily rendered inoperative, albeit in a rather spectacular manner :). I hope I don't disrupt things TOO much . Virille AKA Edward On Wed, 17 Jul 1996, Master of Karma wrote: > On Wed, 17 Jul 1996, Edward Dunai wrote: > > > Thanks, I'll go on over. So, INTJ's, don't feel bad, you aren't the rarest commodity! :) ******************************* This is something that's been bothering me since I read LHM last week. In M'sPromise, Lord Withern is portrayed as an overbearing _idiot_ that wouldn't see anything if you hit him on the face with it (a change from Misty's favourite line) and Lady Treesa was this empty-headed fluff-head with nary a thought in her brain. (I mean, what brain?) And Vanyel definitely does _not_ love either. However, as the series progresses, all their attitudes seem to change. In M'sPrice, Vanyel admits that he has always loved them and thinks they are quite good after all. Lord Withen is now nothing but a little hidebound and Lady Treesa just a tweeny bit selfish. I mean, such a drastic change? Did Misty sudden;y get sentimental and try for one of those happy family endings? But she was the Heir, and as such had to be able to take over if her Momma was assassinated, or fell down stairs and broke her neck - so it's possible that, as the Heir, she had had to learn the arrow code. Must admit it a goodly while since I read Arrows, so can't remember all of doodit's little chat when he taught her the code - was the monarch one of those meant the code for everyone, or was it just Kyril (??). ciao, ciao - try not to be too chatty - I'm away until Monday, and it's not worth postponing for so short a time - I hope! Of course his parents were horrible beyond compare when he was 16. At thirty, even if his parents hadn't changed, it is easier to admit to loving them dispite their faults. He has also run into a lot of people who are worse than his parents. I think his parents do grow over these years, too. Children do tend to force change upon their parents, especially ones like Vanyel. Imagine having one outspoken and non-traditional child living nearby (the sister, what was her name? Lissa?) and one child who lived far away but who was the greatest hero of all time in the whole country. Once they are grown up so you don't have to take ownership of their actions, they won't be so bad, but they are going to cause a lot of changes in the mindsets of their parents. Wtf do I have =3D's at the end of my = > lines, and why is my sig all screwed up? Probably because your mailer is broken, and is doing partial MIME encoding on some characters - translating them into an equals sign followed by the hexadecimal character code. Maybe you've got some non-printing chars in your sig file - anything over 7F might provoke the mailer into thinking you've got a binary file. (I know there's a wodge of coded characters at the end of your sig, but I didn't look at them before deleting :-) ). -- _|_ / | Jerry Cullingford jc-+AT+-crosfield.co.uk (Work) \_|_ jc-+AT+-selune.demon.co.uk (Home) \__/ Hemel Hempstead, UK jerry-+AT+-shell.portal.com (alternate) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 Jul 1996 11:52:00 EST From: "Jenna Wilson" To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: Matchmaking Message-ID: <5688A8D68AF-+AT+-SIMCL.STJOHNS.EDU> > Morgana writes > > Sounds like my family, only it's Baptist....
