But when he was whining and feeling sorry for himself, I was going, "yeah, tell me about it!" While my problems were vastly different from his I had gone through a bad spell of self-pity just before I read SR, and I could totally relate! Remember, Firesong was thinking this stuff to himself, or saying it out loud to Silverfox, who was encouraging him to vent his frustrations. Haven't we all had times when we said to ourselves "It's not fair! Why can't everyone just do things my way and stop hassling me and why can't my life just be simple and perfect? The enchanted goodies provided by the Snack Bar of the Tuatha de Danaan are whatever one wishes them to be- low-cal, low-sodium, etc. The Lilac Fairy herself prefers munchies that contain at least three of the Four Basic Food Groups- caffeine, sugar, salt and fat; which means chocolate is the perfect food. Silverfox has been nominated as a candidate for Unrequited Adoration. He meets most of the criteria: he's gorgeous, possess special powers - but is he gay? Now that she thinks about it, the Lilac Fairy doesn't recall Misty ever coming out and saying that he and Firesong have actually made love. There are oblique hints about massages; in SR there's a scene where the two of them are soaking in Firesong's hot pool after Silverfox has given Firesong a "very satisfying demonstration of at least one of his sets of skills" but that COULD just mean another massage! The Lilac Fairy thinks Silverfox is bi; so if he DID exist, and one of us did meet him, it's at least possible he would be attracted. She regretfully thinks this disqualifies him as a "carrier" of the Curse of the Pink Wand. She is more than willing to be overruled by the other LofPW if they wish to make a wee exception in the case of "he of the laughing blue eyes and ankle length ebony hair". I guess that I misremembered this quote. I was *going* to say that Savil said that each was open to its widest extent except Healing. But it does say that Healing was the only one not open. Hmmm. Maybe Misty decided in MPromise that she'd dump the Bardic Gift, and give him weak Healing? I think that this is a Misty mix-up. I think that she may have just misworded the passage I quoted. Send your mail to lackey-owner-+AT+-herald.co.uk -- not to listproc-+AT+-herald.co.uk if it's something I need to fix, because the listproc will try to process it, and all I'll see is the first line along with a message about how it was an invalid command. Systems Message-ID: Hi, this is Des from Italy. Kindergarten is almost the same, I believe, from about 3/4 till 5 Then elementary school from 6 to 10(five years)where you learn how to write and to read and to add up numbers, as well as Italian, a bit of history, geography an a foreign language(usually English). YOu take a national exam Junior High school- from 11 to 13(three years): here you study better Italian, history, geography and your foreign language, as well as music and what we call technical drawing(!?!) You take another national exam High School -from 14 to 19(five years generally, but for some it is only four)-this is the most important of all. You must choose the type of studies you will follow: there is the Scientific high school, where you study mainly scientific subjects(maths, phisics, technical drawing, chemistry...) but you have to study Italian, your foreign language, history, geography and LATIN as well. Then there is the Classical high school, where students concentrate on humanistic subjects such as Italian, history, latin, greek, but there are also a few hours per week devoted to scientific subjects, such as phisics, chemistry, etc. More over there are other sorts of more specific high schools: one where you study to become a secretary, one where you study to become building surveyor or one other to become elementary school teacher. There is The national exam. It's called Maturita'(Maturity) and when you look for a job people ask you what grade you received in it( thwe highest mark is 60 and pass is 36 University- generally you choose a faculty depending on what you studied at high school. It is very unlikely for a person who studied at the Classical school to sudy astrophisics(though nothing prevents him/her to do it. Generally university courses last 4 to 5 years but the average period in which Italian students get their degree is about 5/6 years If you want further information, please ask.
