(TINAF, honestly it's not, but seeing as how i worked with fluorescence microscopy...) I don't think there is such a thing as "flourescent" (unless it means something else entirely, like how florescent pertains to flowers) . The word you wanted is actually "fluorescent" (I figured you just misspelled the word, but just in case flourescent does mean something - haven't got my dictionary handy...). And to add to the info that Cen just gave... The main principal behind fluorescence is excitation of electrons (sure you all remember them right?). Cells that are loaded or structures that are bound with immunofluorescent antibodies are exposed to a particular wavelength of light (which IS usually UV for light microscopy, but are other wavelengths for confocal microscopy), which excite the electrons, which then causes emission of a different wavelength of light.. I'm not too sure about Fluoron. I never came across that word while studying, but if the Mage of Green Silences is sure about it, then I'll take his word for it... (I think he may be referring to what we called fluorophores...). ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Vivian Choh "I'm all that I claim to be. BTW, does anyone know if he had any children by his wife Sygne? She was the one who followed him into exile and tended him, keeping the serpent venom off of him, as much as she could. My .02: There was a short story written (me-+AT+-work, books-+AT+-home) about Loki and Sygne and their children, and how, because of something Loki did, the children died. The neat part about the story is the swingpoint done in it (the story is written from Sygne's POV), wherein, while the other gods think she's merely being the fithful/dutiful wife, while she's dumping out the venom-catcher and Loki is writhing in agony, she's having her revenge on ~him~ for the deaths of her children. The tale is very well-crafted, and never fails to send a frisson of horror skittering over my skin every time I read it! Tom Cruise is VERY handsome, but I think he's too short. I was >thinking about him for Eldan, but I realized he was supposed to be taller >than Kero. And I thought about Nicki (Nicole Kidman) for Kero... More like >Keth, don't you think? Okay, and Val Kilmer... another yummy soul! Hey, what about Michael Praed? *BG* He’s only the image of Van. . .*giggle* I think he’d make a good Vanyel! ~<:-) ******** >Keenath - The voice of "John Smith" from Pocahontas That would be Mel Gibson. *grin* ******** ObMisty: Does it say anywhere the extent of a Healer's abilities? I can't remember. I mean could they cure or heal things that we can't here like bad eyesight or arthritis or even something like cancer? I think it'd be nice to hear more a little more about Healers and the sort. I mean we've heard about Herald's and Bards and even blues, but only a tad about Healers. Ya know? Or am I the only one? *giggle* That's it for me, for now. :) Zhai'helleva!! However, I'd rather have them written like Ellen "Yes, I'm writing the sequel to _Swordspoint_" Kushner did between Alec and Richard. Intimatly speaking, they were not detailed. And yet, your imagination knew exactly what they were doing. Something like, oh, say the scene between Kris and Talia, was more information than I needed. It really depends on my mood at the moment, but generally, if I want to think about what two (Or three, or four...) characters are doing in bed, I prefer my own twisted little plots. >-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- > >Thess also wrote: > >>Cenny, my sweet, be still my beating heart, you've got my hormones racing >>again, oh gods, what wouldn't I give for a REAL pool in my computer room to >>spy with, I'd spy on you and Heather and Jake and 'Reesa and.... I know she is still trying to do another collaboration with Andre Norton to do another novel with Lashana and Kemen because you can figure out from the end of ElvenBlood that they will do another novel.
