Green eyes have pigment, blue eyes I'm > not sure because I don't want to dig up my musty old Biology book before > school starts, and I think grey eyes are fairly pigmentless. *gryn* Digging up old memories (and don't quote me if I'm wrong, I study law not medicine): Blue eye color is a genetic mutation of brown eyes. Green and grey are basically _mixes_, so grey eyes are what you get when you've got both "brown" & "blue" genes (I think recent studies have shown that the old theory of blue=recessive and brown=dominant genes is wrong, and instead it's a case of quantitative genes, like skin color). OTOH, blue eye color is still a color. Albinism (also a genetic mutation) makes for absence of pigment in both skin and eyes, so the latter are red (b/c of the hemoglobins in the blood). I guess Misty just likes blue better . So given that brown pigment fades to blue, and grey eyes are half- brown, they would also fade to blue. This is also what's implied in the books, and it's not directly contradicted anywhere. However: > Lady Crysania also wrote about grey/silver eyes; I don't think I've seen > grey eyes mentioned anywhere, either, but OTOH silver is a shade of grey. > Mmm, Vanyel's son, the one with Moondance and Starwind -- Brightstar, I > think his name was -- also didn't bleach, and he was living in the > proximity of a Heartstone. It's not stated anywhere that he _didn't_ bleach. His eyes just were grey (silver, whatever). Still, he's young, and if he inherited Vanyel's resistance to bleaching (I'm not sure of this part - can anyone find any reference to this resistance of Van's?), he might not have gotten very far in the bleaching process. Vanyel's eyes, I think, were still that lovely silver in his late 30's when he died. Still, his hair wasn't bleached out yet, either, so it's entirely possible that he'd have bleached to white/ice-blue in time. Sorry for rambling, folks . Maybe relocating in Valdemar would only involve a notice to the Head (Was it that in Velgrath or something else?) of your town to the Head of the new one. Hopefully! Wonder what happens to your property in Velgrath if a guy is presumed dead? Then what do you think will happen if that same guy came back after the property has been distributed? Something along the lines of Bilbo Baggins (the Hobbit) where there's court held 9 years even after he comes back over his property and whether he's really alive??? Whew, long! Two points: 1.Where do we hear anything about Van's son, Brightstar? I have no memory of him being mentioned in anything other than musings with Yfandes about what nice children he breeds, or when he tells his aunty Doodit, when the swarm, or whatever, is about to strike at his line. 2. Van is bleaching. There's a scene towards the beginning of Magic2, when he's bathing, and Tantras (?) is winceing (how's that spelt?) over his scars. There is also mention of his silver hairs, and how they'll at least earn his some respect. ML then seemingly decided to leave him black haired, so that Thingy, love-interest No. 2, could swoon over his sliver eyes and black hair (I think I mean silver back there - sliver eyes may go great on Clint Eastwood and mean cowboys, but not our Vannie!) 'kay - it's throwing it down outside - just in time for the weekend. Still, at least it gets me out of painting the boat (dream on EE, I'll be out there with my umbrella if he gets his way!) Johnny Depp!! *Droolfest!!* I was never much a VanFan (wow! cool!) but if Johnny Depp were to take the part.. (sigh!) I may have to alternate watching him, Tylendel, and Ware in Lilac Fairy's spy..er scrying pool. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Then Linda said: %%Twenty years ago, Sting would have been great in the part. The animation is _great_, the voices are _awesome_ (Mark Hammill _is_ the Joker) and the writing is better than alot of normal shows out there. Just my .02.
