Funny you mention it, its in S&S VII, which is the one I happen to be
reading right now. :) Actually, she believed herself into a bear. <flipping
through book> Mara was her name and the story is called "The Talisman" Very
good story.

But, its Misty, better yet its Tarma and Kethry, so really where can you go
wrong? :)

Brightstar is in MPrice, when Sayv--Savil goes to get help for Van an' 
Stef's leachblade problem. I don't REMEMBER anything about him, or, for 
that matter, Van not bleaching, though. In fact, I was sure that Van had 
silver hair and blue-grey-ice eyes, like other node users. I KNOW it 
surprised quite a few people when they saw him from behind, and then saw 
his young face...and I can't think of any place it states his eyes didn't 
change. You know what I just thought? What if Van is actually *related* 
to the Tayledras. We know they were at least in Highjourne at one point, 
so they were probably farther out, too. And Van has a Hawkbrother-ish 
last name. His family being the Lords of the area could well be the 
filtered down version of that peasant calling the Hawkbrother's Lords, 
Ladies, and Masters after the cold-drake. And the only place I know of 
that Van has black hair is the covers;>

will-it-never-die debate but....

OK, I change my mind.  Forget Montalban.  Scott Glenn - yes!!  Nothing
overstated about him.  He'd be a good choice ... or how about Jurgen
Prochnow?  Duke-I'm-not-gonna-attempt-to-spell-his-name in Dune (Paul
Moadib's (sp?) pop), David in the Seven Signs (Was he also in the Keep, or
was that the Deep???).  He's also got a nice potentially menacing type of
face... 

but then Cennydd said

Oh <now stealing quote from Jake> ICK!  Before you all create a ruckus
(sp?).. Lucy Lawless wouldn't be good for the same reason why we (well,
not all of us I realise) picked on Connery-as-Alberich in the first
place...  Lawless isn't exactly..er..<thinking of a way to say this
tactfully>..(!)...slim.  Tarma's supposed to be whipcord-over-bone, which
Lawless isn't. 

Unless you didn't mean the actors, but rather the idea?

If the powers that be do make something like Xena for T&K, I don't think
i'd like it to be so campy...  understated, subtle humour would be better
IMO.

If any of you feel that e-mail accounts are too expensive (or your parents
are really starting to give you flack for their 'phone bills), but that
you cannot live without it, you might want to try one of the freenets. 
Unfortunately, dunno if there are any in Europe (Somehow I doubt it,
sorry, Brigit), but for most of you living in the bigger cities in North
America, there's probably one available.  There are of course some
drawbacks to the freenets, (no unlimited mailbox space, one cannot always
access it during peak times, and one only gets to get on one hour at a
time) but if you're really short on cash and NEED the e-mail like some
people need coffee..  The drawbacks with access however, make ME at
least, aware of how much time I am spending on the 'net (which is a good
thing when I'm supposed to be studying.... :) ) In addition, one can
access the WWW using the text browser (Lynx - just no images) so that's
pretty good.  I know that the WWW is not as much fun without the images
and colours, but if it's information you're after, it does quite nicely..

I think it was one of the Winds books where Tre'valen (sp?) walked the
moonpaths, encountered Falconsbane, and did something, got killed, then got
avatarized. I need to re-read all the winds books...

Also, Tarma, as a "priestess," took part in the Oathbreaking ceremony, and
before that, she kind of helped Kethry survive by calling upon the
Star-Eyed. Granted, it's not shamanic, but I think it's close enough.

*WHOOSH -- THUNK* It just hit me. Brent Spiner would be perfect as
Darkwind. He's middle-aged, reasonably handsome (IMNSHO), and a damned good
actor. I *have* seen him outside his Starfleet uniform and the pixie
makeup, and I know he can act. And his voice is *so*unbelievably sexy...
And wasn't Darkwind supposed to be older than Elspeth? I just love the way
he smiles... (OK, so I went to see Independence Day, then came home and
watched ST:TNG, while taping Pie in the Sky just so I could see about
forty-five seconds of Brent in that movie. Actually, it was pretty good. It
also featured Wil Wheaton, but that's another story...)

Okay -- I have never seen Xena, it looks cool, but I have restricted myself
to one hour of TV every day unless there's a good movie on (TrekGen,
TrekKahn, Clue, Boys on the Side, to name a few in the past), so I usually
use it up for Trek or Bab5. All right, on Sundays, I permit myself more
than that because Bab5 is right after DS9. But on Saturdays, I don't watch
much TV, so I use up my TV hours on Sunday -- Anywho, Bab5 has less bending
of the laws of physics, but Star Trek is more fun, IMO. I need to read the
science of ST sometime -- I really wonder how the artificial gravity works
on board Trek ships. They don't seem to be spinning around inside...

Hee-hee. Lissa was one of my favorites, too. I wish Misty had done more

*smile*  That's a quote from one of those old text adventure games, 
Zork.  If you said "hello" without addressing it to another character, 
the game would say "Talking to yourself is a sign of impending mental 
collapse."  It also said "wheeeeeeeeeee!" when you hopped, skipped, 
or jumped.  Quite silly, but amusing.  I talk to myself all the time,

I am a bona fide Red Dwarf Addict!  I have seen every episode from
Season 1 to Season 6, have most, if not all, on tape, have read both
novels (very funny, go get them!) and am waiting anxiously for the
