I find it weird thought that I have never heard of it. I was born and raised in Ohio and I have never heard of LPBC!! Is it a very big chain?? Well, I will have to keep my eyes open for it!! I hope that you were not hurt in your car accident!! I think that the other driver would have to be blind not to see a blue car against white snow. I take it that your car was totaled since you said that you need to get a new car. Well, I hope that everything works out for you and thank you for your help and information. O.K. I have found definitive textual evidence as to their origin. On page 88 of Silver Gryphon, paperback, chapter two for those people with the hardback, it says "Urtho was not infallible, ....he had many mistakes creating some of his new creatures. One of those accidents was the responsible for the creation of intelligence in kyree,...and hertasi"....."An accident may have been responsible for the intelligence...but not for the creature itself...creature creation takes great thought, planning, and skill." This shows that the hertasi and kyree were not intended to be intelligent and that they were created. On page 255, chapter six, it states "The tervardi and dyheli were natural creatures..." farther down it says " {Ma'ar} made cold-drakes and basilisks.." All right I hope this has helped so this shows hertasi-created, not supposed to be intelligent kyree-created, not supposed to be intelligent tervardi-natural dyheli-natural Hope this has helped :) Shadowsong ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 30 Mar 1997 23:20:47 -0500 (EST) From: Lonehawk2-+AT+-aol.com To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Elvenbane then Mostly Fluff, response to Deniz Message-ID: <970330232046_-1671417315-+AT+-emout15.mail.aol.com> I'm putting my obmisty in the beginning so those of you that don't have leisure time can skip the rest. I know that conversations about Elvenbane have been cropping up everynow and then, but I just reread the first book and was thinking about it. I know that basically Dyran was the scum of the earth and he deserved to die, but every time I reread the book I just always end up feeling some sort of. . . well.. . . admiration for the guy. Anybody have any suggestions why? It makes me rather squeamish because he's such scum. I don't want to admire his handiwork because it was so . . . I don't have the word for it. . . but I still like something in him. That makes me somewhat uncomfortable. Anybody have any takes on Dyran's character? Or maybe there's a psychologist among the 400 listeners, er, readers that could explain this problem to me. Sorry for the fluff content, just getting a few things out of the way. I would appreciate any responses. Now onto the Fluff - Deniz > I wish I had my books. (Shy, you >*are* taking good care of them, right?) Of *course* I'm taking good care of your books, Deniz. I absolutely treasure and adore them so much I brought them to school and gave them a prize spot on the shelf! Sheeps to you for worrying. >tsk, tsk, 'hawk... didn't you read the >NewbieFest? I DID read the NewbieFest, dearest, and I do not recall the Ones in Black being there. I remember Ladies in Green, Ladies of the Pink Wand, Cat Persons, and MageWars. Did you say four hundred??? My god we must have a lot of lurkers. Oh, hon, check your spelling in your survery, you wrote food instead of foot, and it did have me scratching my head for a while until I noticed the referrence to hand. I was wondering what that dominant food thing was. Now I will gracefully bow out of here and cover my tracks before Deniz sends woodlark after me. Funny, Deniz, she must have learned that knife thing from me. (remember me waving those dinighall knives around at the dinner table) 'hawk ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 31 Mar 1997 18:59:13 +0800 (SGT) From: chenchen-+AT+-rgs.edu.sg To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-vanyel.herald.co.uk Subject: Bookstores in New York/Abrev. list Message-ID: <199703311059.SAA08080-+AT+-aragorn.sol.com.sg> I currently need help, a friend of mine is going to New York in June and she wants to take this time to buy some books over there.
