And lest we forget, you should also brace yourself for a letdown. Misty is notoriously unwilling to give permission for fanfic about her worlds. I think that Sword of Ice spells the ultimate doom of Misty-based fan-fic. After all, she has just proven that *she* can get money out of it, so why should she allow fan writers to dilute the market. Remember, he had only one soul so it would be kinda impossible for one soul to go into two bodies. Ma'ar didn't only transfer his mind, he transferred his soul as well. Not many people like to admit what they are doing is wrong. And historically speaking there is no good and evil, just the winners and the bad guys. It doesn't make it right, just a fact. I don't think the Indians enjoyed the fact that the settlers thought they had the right to displace them. And I know that the small countries bordering the empire live in fear of it exercising it's "manifest destiny." If Tremane's soldiers are loyal to him, it is because he is a good leader, not because he is a noble in the empire. It's almost dispite the fact he's a noble in the empire. What he has done is not something most others in the empire would, and it makes him stand out in the eyes of his soldiers. He is more the exception than the rule. Krebain had definite >> Falconsbane traits, talons and the cat slit eyes! Sure, many of Ma'ar's descendants would be living at the same time. I mean, he did say he took care to 'spread his seed' far and wide to ensure he would never be without a suitable host-body. Therefore, there would be a -lot- of people running around with Ma'ar's blood in them somewhere. However, just because Krebain was a changechild, it doesn't mean he was one of them. There were lots of changechildren, supposedly...someone said somewhere in the Mage Winds (texevd, anyone?) that the slit eyes and something else (talons?) had to be born in, unless you wanted to use a whole -lot- of power to create them. Falconsbane was using blood magic, and one would assume he had power to waste, for a while. But anyway, changechildren were generally created when someone was living in the Pelagirs too long and got warped by magic. Remember the snake-like one in Mage Winds? He didn't create himself, as far as we know. So Krebain might have just been some ordinary, run-of-the-mill Pelagirs mutant. :) Did that make any sense? It was just an idea. Where would I write to to get that permission? More than willing to share the profits with Misty and her publishers. This is just something I thought would be fun and it would fit in with my major at college nicely. Won't do it if they say no though. Sorry Talia. I would really like to see some stories covering the time between the mage wars and the founding. Also the founding. Need's life and prior. More the the war between Mar'ar and Urtho. And something on the thime just prior to when Seleny was made Queen. Maybe it is also time I introduced myself. My name is Joe Marra. I live in Drums, PA. Im 21y/o, 5'7", 155lbs, brown eyes and hair, single. I'm a college student (freshman) and a humanaties(english/writer) major. I write short horror stories(have yet to attempt to get published I still don't feel I am good enough kindof a perfectionist in my writing) and have been trying to start a horror novel. I read on average 2 books a day and try to reread the Valdemar series at least once a month.
