I'm another newbie to the group - originally from Puerto Rico (since someone had asked about locations) and currently residing in NJ. Sorowheart asked about starting a Misty fanzine. There are several already, listed in the Queen's Own newsletter, so it is possible to do so. You can write a story based in Velgarth (or any other Misty world) , but can't write about any of Misty's characters or books, unless you are just referencing them (at least that's how I understand the release form). For more info: the Release Form can be found at: http://members.aol.com/kadia/Release.html The official Mercedes Lackey fan club is "Queen's Own", which is run by Judith Louvis. Contact her for more details. You can request a sample issue, but include a SASE or a stamp if you want to give her a nice surprise :) Queen's Own PO Box 132 Shiloh NJ 08353 U.S.A. Re - Tarma & Kethry - someone had mentioned they'd never read the original story of how they met. I migh consider lending a copy of my S&S III.... (Does someone know if its legal to make copies of out of print stories??) Its my VERY favorite Misty story, even after all other wonderful books she's written. And I agree, I'd love to see all those stories put together, but unless there's some financial incentives.... BTW - has anyone encountered an "attitude" about Misty while filking (or at SF Conventions)? Most filks I've been too (not too many in the last few years) people only know the computer parody Duane Elms wrote to Misty's "Three's" song. I've been told by other SF fans that they refuse to buy Misty books and filk because she's too materialistic. So I feel really left out if I try to sing any Misty music :( Any filkers out there??? You see, I couldn't afford to buy hardcover Storm Breaking until today, and I can't read it until I read my Faulkner, like a good girl who wants to pass her finals. Anyway, I'm hoping everyone survives the ending, and I want already want to know what happens after this trilogy! Think another could be in the works? Luck to all listsibs in the throes of finals! RE: Reincarnation I always got the impression that Krebain and Leareth actually *knew* each other, but I have no idea why I think that. Same style? Same type of personality? Same "join me or die" approach? I also think that by the time the soul of Leareth/Ma'ar got to the Falconsbane reincarnation, he had become less and less sane - so he remembered his ancient hatred of the gryphons, because that was an "core aspect" of his original personality - it was instinctual.
