All of these things would be potentially actionable violations of Misty's copyrights. Misty has been quite adamant about refusing to allow role-playing or fan-fic or any other activity that involves using her copyrighted material. Individual listmembers have to make their own decisions, based on the dictates of their consciences, about whether they want to respect Misty's wishes on this subject. However, if you choose to disregard Misty's wishes and use her copyrighted material in an online persona or in creating fan-fic, do not mention it on this list. Otherwise, we run the risk of losing this list altogether, since Mel would not be able to host it on her computers. Misty may not read this list, but there is some circumstantial evidence that her lawyers know about and keep tabs on it (some people who have posted "iffy" messages have received "cease and desist" letters from Misty's lawyers, for example). Now, after that ickiness, let me point out that Lady Sophia, our list's resident Goddess of Music, has a lovely temple, with all sorts of Priestesses, Priests, Acolytes, and other types. It may be that their God Vkandis withdrew his support until the people got it together. Once Solaris appeared the assistance of the Firecats as counselors became neccessary again. Maybe as time goes by more Firecats may appear to assist people who hold unusual amounts of power in Karse. But I am more inclinced to think that Firecats will not be nearly as plentiful as Companions (especially since there are less Son of Suns to be reincarnated then there are Heralds). Also I believe that Altra was once a Son of the Sun. I believe that in Storm Warning just after Altra first appears to Karal- Karal thinks to himself "Altra? But I remember how much I loved Ann Rice's Interview With The Vampire and how disappointed I was with the movie. Magic depleates pigments by, and i quote, "Use of node-energy (wich compaions use to enhance thier ablities) gradually bleaches a mage."(p 159, WoC) When something is bleached the dye in it is slowly drained away. Hence white hair Silver hoves and blue eyes. or grey in some mages. Each color is near to white.
