Healing Adept have a healing gift? But they usually heals the land instead of people, right? So they could have the 'earth-sense' too? My question would be: STORMS BREAKING'S HUGE SPOILER H U G E S P O I L E R S P A C E (I assume you've heard the warning, so don't blame me!) Now that all the nodes and ley lines are *gone*, wouldn't the Adepts and Masters have as much power as Journeyman? So right now, only the most skilled are the most useful mages? From what I know, Adpets, Masters, and Journeyman have such lever differences because of what different levels of power they can handle, not how skilled they are. Is that true? Because I remember distinctly from one of the books that Adepts are the ones that can handle power from nodes, Masters can handle ley lines, and Journeyman can handle their own personal power. But how about either an "omniscient author" third person account, or even Solaris' own account of what happened?) * the story of Talia's trip into Karse, or better yet, the whole tentative approach of Karse to Valdemar, through the initial alliance * the story of Baron Valdemar's flight from the Empire and the establishment of Valdemar (I understand that ML has said she won't do this one, but that needn't stop us from wishing...) *a book or short story featuring Wintermoon (judging from the title, we just might be getting one in "Owlflight", listed as forthcoming.) Please note: I will continue collecting topics for the story wish-list for the forseeable future. I catch some as they go past on-list; you can post others to me privately, if you wish. ******************************************* Randale -- Aistes (I think) posted an interesting list of possible illnesses Randale could have had. For some reason, though, the symptoms of his illness always made me think of leukemia. Does anyone know enough about the various forms of leukemia to tell me whether that's a possible answer? Incidentally, I don't think his illness was magically induced. Remember, Taver, the previous King's Own's Companion, picked Shavri, not Vanyel, to be King's Own. Had the illness been magical in nature, Van would have been the more logical choice. Instead, Taver Chose a Healer, one with both physical Healing Gifts and some degree of Empathy. I'm sure the fact that she was Randi's lifebonded was a plus, but their lifebond would have been unaffected had someone else become King's Own. Therefore, I don't think she was Chosen solely for her relationship to Randi. (In fact, I can see that it might be better if the relationship between Monarch and Monarch's Own were less close. Sometimes you can "hear" something better from a friend than you can form your beloved. Then, too, it's harder for a lifebonded to maintain emotional equilibrium when their bonded is upset or off-balance -- yet maintaining the equilibrium of the Monarch is the role of the Monarch's Own.) How about you all? Do >you think it's likely? Just out of curiosity, how on earth do you think someone can be reincarnated as someone else who's -already alive-? Rolan is Rolan. Roald is Roald. The twain, as they say, shall never be one. :P You have to die before you can be someone else. Now, if Roald had lived a long time before, then -maybe- he could now be Roald. But anyway, enough with the Companion reincarnation? Puh-lease? Geez, I just contributed to it. Someone kill me. No, wait. My chemistry class will do that. How about you all? Do > you think it's likely? Ummm, I don't. I think Rolan was alive at this time. Here's my reasons: In AotQ, Talia realizes that Rolan is the source of a lot of her wisdom, and she thinks something along the lines of "Rolan's garnished a lifetime of wisdom from Talamir." And that's a bad quote, but I took it to signify that Talamir was KO and then QO for a LONG time--probably from right when he got his whites or so--and he was a very old man when he died. Keghvian (I'm not sure on the spelling) was KO before that, and from the context (and I don't remember which Arrows book it says that he came before Talamir), I gathered that Rolan was MOC then, too. Now, Roald was only two generations before Selenay. I don't think that's enough time for a reincarnation to occur. To say nothing of the fact that GB Companions are NOT reincarnated Heralds. They are MUCH higher-level spirits than the regular Companions (see WofFate for textevd). WTTW, Jacquelle It is a far, far better thing that I do than I have ever done.
