I know I read it somewhere, I think in one of the Arrows books. And do you know when it is coming out? I am positively thirsty for a new Mercedes Lackey book. What's the title? I am doing a web page dedicated to Mercedes Lackey books, anyone have any idea of what I should put in it (I have my own ideas, of course, but I would like some input)? I'll tell everyone when it's done and you can visit! The length of time it would take a candle to burn a given difference woul depend on many things including: ambient temperature, humidity and composition of both candle and wick. Until very recently candles were made of tallow or various natural waxessuch as beeswax andbayberry wax, the burning times for any one of these would vary greatly from batch to batch. Another factor is the length of time the candle had been burning, the longer it had been burning the faster it would burn. At last a topic I can actually contribute something new to. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 31 May 1997 20:35:57 -0400 (EDT) From: FireWurm-+AT+-aol.com To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: cold-drakes, Songs Message-ID: <970531203556_439865178-+AT+-emout07.mail.aol.com> _____Cold-drakes_____ Ravenwing mentioned: > What about cold-drakes? I reread it recently and I felt sorta bleh afterwards. I think that when three people write together it doesn't work out that well. Like the Robin Hobb books, on the covers is some straight haired blond guy, while the main character has black curly hair. Sometimes, when I get a new book (paperback or hardcover) I take white butcher paper and make my own cover, so I'm not influenced by the artists perception. You might want to check the archives. Here's a brief summary: When a message arrives, vanyel tries to send it immediately to each subscribed address. However, if for some reason one of those dispatches fails at that time, the message is thrown into a "queue". The whole queue is retried periodically (typically once or twice per hour). If one of the people who *did* get the message replies to it quickly, and vanyel is able to send you the reply, then you'll probably get the reply before the original is sent from the queue. Multiply this by the myriad little things that can go wrong with computer networks, especially if mail delivery between vanyel and your mail server isn't a straight line. The result is just short of chaos, but it usually works. :-) ------------ Greg Wooledge ------------- ------- wooledge-+AT+-kellnet.com ------- --- http://kellnet.com/wooledge/main.html --- ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 1 Jun 1997 11:36:05 -0400 (EDT) From: FireWurm-+AT+-aol.com To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: ideas for new web page/Fire Rose(not spoiler) Message-ID: <970601113601_521095663-+AT+-emout05.mail.aol.com> > Bios of characters?
