Well it was my understanding that the chosen couldn't (literally) refuse. The bond is just to strong. An example is Vanyel. He definately did not want to be chosen but the thought of hurting 'Fandes was too much for him to go through with refusing (that is once he knew that it would hurt her). That was my thought on the matter. Favorite flavor sheep to all, Molly ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 09 Aug 1997 18:03:58 -0500 From: "Dawn L. Therefore, every time one of you gets annoyed at *yet another posting of the chain letter* and retaliates by hitting reply and saying something along the lines of "Don't send me this kind of thing", everyone else gets it too. All this is explained in the Newbie Fest which can be accessed at: HTTP://www.udel.edu/kenny/pers/newbiefest/newbiefest.html If any of you would like a copy and have no web access, any of us councilors will be more than happy to email the latest version. Peace, Ele a Councilor of Mist who will prolly go berserk if she sees yet another posting of the above mentioned chain letter ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 Aug 1997 02:07:23 +0200 From: mapfahler-+AT+-metronet.de To: Subject: gating to FoS Message-ID: <199708100024.CAA01150-+AT+-pop.metronet.de> Nightsong wrote: > Umm, first off, Talia would not necessarily recognize the place, because > Rolan was MO's Companion for at -least- one other person, for longer > than she was even alive. Well, but Talia *has* been in the Forest of Sorrows (in her internship, together with Kris), so she could easily have recognized it. The question is, how did Elspeth recognize it, she has never been outside Haven before (before her trip down south, that is), being the cosseted princess. Or did she recognize it only after Van & Co appeared? Heck, it's been too long since I read the book... ;) Walk in beauty Khenta Blaufalk mapfahler-+AT+-metronet.de aka Skyfire k'Vala & Aar Goddess of Incomplete Vocabulary and Garbled Grammar ------------------------------ End of MERCEDES-LACKEY Digest 1296 **********************************
