I'm a 29 yrs mother of one who aspires to be a published writer. Right now I'm dirt poor in the USA. I couldn't rent a movie video much less make a real movie. In the understanding that this movie WON'T ever be made--unless Misty should in the future take care to make one of her own--please keep in mind that all of her characters, their world, and their concept are copywrited. Before you post anything that might--even in the littlest way-- infringe on copywrites you should email it to Anutie Mel and let her decide. I want to have fun with this thing as much as any of you but we have to be CAREFUL. I'd never do anything to purposely upset or anger Misty. She is the reason this list exists. With all the cold hard reality in place, so far Auntie Mel is objecting lets try to keep it that way. What I would, do, though, was keep a book in my purse, so that if the shopping got boring, I could just pull it out until she got through looking at whatever the item was. A lot of times she and my sister would leave me in the mall bookstore, which I thought was wonderful! (Imagine my chagrin now to have spent lots of time in Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Bookstop--to the point that mall bookstores have become almost intolerable to me. They have no depth.) Anyway, if I bought a book (or several) I'd start reading them during the car ride home, and would have at least one finished by that evening. Now I'm lucky if I have time to finish a book in a month. I only get to read during lunch at work. I used to stay up really late (i.e., early) all the time to finish a really good book (whether I've already read it or not), but then I graduated college and the real world reared it's ugly head and I actually have to work. So now, I read in the bathroom, while making dinner, at redlights, in congested traffic, at lunch, and usually until 11pm. You'd be surprised how much you can accomplish! Now {frown, mist of tears} I only have the stamina to read new books later into the night. I've also found that reading at redlights is much harder if it's a book you haven't read before. Anyway, I've just re-read Arrows, and I've started on Winds. Here's a question - why didn't Talia and Dirk name their son Kris? I thought that they'd want to more than Selenay and Daren. And has there ever been any more mention of the Spidersect that follows the Cold God? Do you think they're near the Hialeigh (sp)? A who's-who would be nice, lists of characters and short descriptions, bibliography (novels as well as short-stories), short synopsis of each novel, maybe even of the short stories... maybe a glossary of strange words and concepts, history and timeline... take a look at the Darkover site at: http://www.darkover.org/rossi/index.uk.html I think it's a wonderful site, which has proved to be very useful many times.
