Mage Wars Trilogy. Obviously, given my e-mail address, I liked the books, and gryphons in particular.. :) It's funny.. A lot of you guys got it from a friend.. I was looking at the 'new books' rack and noticed a cool picture on the spine of one. It was a new copy (hardback, even!) of Silver Gryphon.. I noticed that it was in a trilogy, and went to go see the other two.. I finished the books in 2 or 3 days each... and that's school days! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 31 Aug 1997 11:43:51 +0000 From: ANDREA HUNTER To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: A Returnie Message-ID: <7180EA277E-+AT+-cottey.edu> Helya misty fans! My oh my how I have missed you this summer. I had to go home and for some reason could not sign up on my dad's computer soooo. I am back. College has started. In answer to some questions posted over the last few days. I started reading Misty when I was in 7th grade. I first picked up Arrows trilogy then I did LHM I was so hooked I have practically every book and story Misty has ever written(Except some of the S&S books). I Liked Lammas night for the first few stories and then I got bored by immitation Misty. I read the whole thing but it wasn't one of my favorite books. Here's a question: Which of Misty's books do you think are her best work.? I love LHM and BTS the best Well back to studying already first weekend and what am I doing? If you haven't already you have to read Elvenblood it is one of her best creations and the sequel is just as good. It is hard to explain but this is a story where Elves came in a portal from their own world and took over. The story takes place when the elves rule the humans in a master slave relationship. This is mainly the story of Lashana who is a halfblood ( One who has the real magics of elves and the mindmagic of humans) She is born after a pregnant concubine runs away after learning of her pregnancy because halfbloods scare the Elves cause they are really powerful. This is a really cool story even if they totally bombed the cover illustration and the back is hardly even true. I first read Misty when I was 17. A friend of mine loved her, and suggested "Magics Pawn" after I came out of the closet. She thought I would be able to relate to it. Of course I did. It is still a favorite (even after reading it three times). It is tough for me to get emotional in books, but that book hit me pretty hard. Four years later I still love Misty more than any other author. I have read all her Velgarth novels, all the DT books, Sacred Ground, all the Bardic Voices books, and all the Bard's Tale books. I usually don't like Science Fiction, so I havent gotten into the Urban Fantasy stuff yet, but everyone on here seems to like them so I probably will too. I would like to know more about these novels, and whether or not anyone thinks I will like them. On the subject of Lammas Night, I read it and hated it. The only reason that I finished it was I hate to leave a book unfinished. I liked a couple of the stories alright but most of them sucked. Ok so that ended up being alot more than two cents.........but it is only my second e-mail to the list in the last six months, so I guess I'm making up for lost time. :-) Well I'm going to go lurk again, and sulk and cry until I can afford Owlflight. Does anyone know when SB will come out in paperback? The whole storms sereis is still on the spoilers list, right?
