Message-ID: <199709040711.PAA15797-+AT+-melati.singnet.com.sg> Heyla all! OK, I'll work backwards to forewards... makes sense? 1. My computer is _finally_ fixed after a month of HARD work, and torture! :( But I'm baaaccckk! 2. I first started reading Misty last year, before my birthday... so that would make me 14 when I started officially. I read IIPTNIG when I was 13, but ignored it as it was for a school... I got to choose the book though! 3. The Misty Awards are out!!!!! Unfortunately, since I'm scared shitless about the copyright stuff, the presentation is gonna be daaammmmnnnn boring! 4. I hope DT and Andre live happily ever after! ;) Sounds soppy doesn't it? Yeah, but I wish she was a vamp in the end. Though it would be wierd if they don't have a record of her death.... 5. And the results: Welcome to the Prestigious Misty Awards! Because of un-foreseen circumstances, the broadcasting of the results have been delayed a fortnight or so. I really really apologise for the delay! Please pay attention to the screen before your eyes... *************************************MISTY RESULTS************************************** For Best Human Male Character: He's known as the Last Herald-Mage (guessed it yet?), Shadowstalker, Demonsbane, and The Hero of Stony Tor! He's Vanyel Ashkevron! *screams in the background as adoring 'fans' realise that their idol has won* For Best Human Female Character: She's had a tough life. Getting sold by her beloved brother, saddled by an interfering mage-sword... She's Kethryveris of Mornedealth, she'enedra of Tarma shena Tale'sedrin, and one of the founding mothers of clan Tale'sedrin! *more screams, what else?* Best Non-Human Male Character: He's the confidant of a young Karsite priest in a strange land filled with magic. He's Altra, Firecat! *chorus of mewing all around!* Best Non-Human Female Character: She's been here for longer than we could count, tempered by the forge. Her mother was the blacksmith. Her father was the flame. She's Need, Mage-Smith of Old, now a Blade which aided women in danger, held only by women unafraid (until Firesong came along... but that's another story! :)) *A chuckling voice is heard in everyone's head. We intend to ignore it...* Best Supporting Male Character: "The Weaponsmaster has no heart, his hide is iron cold." Aah! But he sure has a following! Alberich, Herald-Weaponsmaster, heart of gold! *tonnes of Herald-trainees look on dubiously. Wondering if Alberich tampered...* Best Supporting Female Character: Was she the toughest b.... of all? Only the Gods know! All we know is that she was the most loved women of all! Savil Ashkevron, Herald-Mage, Wingsister to k'Treva, Guardian! *flowers thrown on-stage* Best Villain: Seems like you guys love politics! Our villain-of-the-day is a rogue councilor of Valdemar. Working in her inner courts, its Orthallen, Herald Kris' late, unlamented uncle, and traitor to the throne! *hiss, boos and cheers!* Best Scenes: You know, this was really close! The scene that all of you guys loved is none other than Death and Reaction starring Tylendel Frelennye and Vanyel Ashkevron of pre-magic days! The scene (for non-believers) starts from the repudiation of Tylendel all the way to Van's suicide attempt! *do I hear crying in the audience as they re-read the poignant scene over again?* Best Series: Was there any doubt? LHM is our favourite series with Vows and Honour a distant second! (For newbies, that's "The Last Herald-Mage" trilogy starring Vanyel Ashkevron and his lifebondeds) And for Best Character ever! 'Tis yet another award clinched by our Herald! :) Yes, the winner of the last category is Vanyel Ashkevron!!!!! <--- count them~ *************************************MISTY RESULTS**************************************** And that my friends is the long-awaited results! I have read all of the novels of the SERRAted Edge, except for Born to Run and Cast of Cobies. Here is my question: Is there a decided order for the series? Jason >> Well, the published order is Born to run Wheels of Fire When the Bough Breaks I am not sure after that, but I think Chrome Circle is the latest. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Sep 1997 18:18:53 -0400 (EDT) From: Hyllarr-+AT+-aol.com To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Spoiler for Jinx High Message-ID: <970904181751_-700721466-+AT+-emout07.mail.aol.com> Heyla ya'll I just finished Jinx High and in the end it says- Dr. James Powell rubbed his hands together nervously. He hated to lose this patient-she'd meant a great deal in the way of a steady income to feed his coke habit- Powell, that was one incentive you didn't need, he scolded himself. You've been cold turkey for a month now. You can do just fine with the rest of your practice. And you got into this business to cure people, not make them dependant on you! Go back to being a doctor, not a goddamned drug addict! "You can let Mrs. Harper in now, Sherri," he told the secretary. Rowena harper moved gracefully through the door to his office and took the chair opposite his desk. "Well, Mrs. Harper," he said quietly. "There's no doubt in anyone's mind. When you passed the certification board, it was only a matter of the paperwork. I want you to know that I was very happy to give you your release papers. And I'm happy to see you leaving us today." "I never doubted it, Dr. Powell," she said, in a low, throaty voice. "I want you to know that I'll always be grateful to you for your help." "I'm just sorry that it took such a shock-" She bowed her head. "My poor daughter. What a horrible way to dies. Lightning. Who would ever have thought soemthing like that would happen to her? I still find it hard to believe she's gone. And yet-it's a paradox; if she hadn't had that terrible accident, might I not still be locked in my little world of delusions, insisting that I was her?" "It's possible, I suppose," Powell said carefully. "I've learned never to discount anything when it comes to the mind." She sighed, and twisted her hands in her lap. "I suppose it's just as well that I was so thoroughly drugged when it happened. You were able to break the news to me gently that wayt. Somehow I think that's why when you lightened the dosage, I was able to come back to my real self." "That's entirely possible," Powell repeated. "Now, before you go-are you certain you'll be all right? All alone in that big house?" "I won't be alone," Rowena said, still looking down at her hands. "Will I, Emily?" Powell jumped; he hadn't noticed Rowena's sister Emily when she'd come in, nor that she had sat down on the couch behind Rowena. She was so quiet and subdued, she might well have been Rowena's shadow, or a piece of the furniture. "No, Rowena," the woman said, in a soft, mouse-timid voice. "You will not be alone." Rowena rose, and Powell realized that he could not delay the moment any longer. "All right," he said, rising to his own feet. "You take care of yourself. And stay in touch. You may need somehelp in adjusting. You might find yourself with too much time on your hands." "I'm certain I'll be able to keep busy," Rowena replied, looking up at him. For a moment he thought he saw a hard, calculating look in her eyes. "I have a great deal of unfinished business to handle. a great deal," she repeated. Then the look was gone, replaced by simple, warm gratitude. It's the nerves, Powell figured, clenching his jaw. Coke damages the nerves. I'm going to have to stop being so paraniod. He opened the door for her, and she and her sister slipped by him, both of them thanking him again, in sincere, effusive tones. He watched her walk past his receptionist's desk and out into the hall. Go d, she moves like that daughter of her; at least she does now that she's sane again. Soemtimes she even looks like her. Maybe that was the root of the delusion. There might be a paper in that... Lord, she could be that sexy little thing all over again. Right down to the come-hither walk... -Is mIsty implying that Fay got moved back into her previos body? Or is it my imagination?
