Van had met Stef when the Bard was seventeen." But before that it said (& this is probably what you were refering to): "Stef. Twenty years." I suppose that is an easier place of finding the 20 years mentioned, but without knowing the general time when his birthday is you'll be a year off. BTW, the part where it says Van met Stef when Stef was seventeen is YAMI. In the beginning of MPrice (page 25) Medren says: "Only eighteen and _he's_ about to make Full Bard." And on the cover of "White gryphon" Amberdrake looks very male. Did you ever notice that Every Male Character Larry Dixon illustrates looks an awful lot like... Larry Dixon? (At least that picture on the back cover flap.) Also in Storm Breaking (I think) there's an illustration of "Elspeth and Darkwind" in which the drawn characters bear a suspicious resemblence to...
