Hello. I'm returning from a week of respiratory crud.  When I apened my
INBOX there were 74 messages. Wowzers!!!Thanks guys. A couple of things
quickly because this machine has just informed me only 5 minutes left in my
session.

RE: Haslam's -- I'm in Florida, but not Tampa, went to Haslam's on my
honeymoon. Great place.  That's were I got my LHM series. SIGH for only half
the price!!!!! gush!

RE:Readers as Bards-- Great thought.  In fact I think I will always feel
better about "just" reading and not "doing" .  Thanks!

RE: reading,  I read a lot as well.  Mostly fantasy/ sci-fi.  I would never
never sell one of my books.  I love them too much, they are like old
friends.  Now, here is the disagreement, someone wrote never to mate with a
non-reader, because they will never understand.  Never say never.  I am
married to a non-reader.  He understands me as much as I do him.
Compromise!! is the key, sometimes he doesn't interrupt, sometimes he does,
sometimes I don't mind, sometimes I do.  He is always willing to listen
about such and such great story I just read, and he doesn't call the
white-coated guys when I yell or cheer or cry with the characters in the
book.

Oh, she's dead all right - that scene is the first one to show for sure

I gave up on the local buses some years ago (and Oxford has a _good_ bus 
service!) Instead I either walk into town, or ride my bicycle. It's fun, 
trying to avoid a tourist bus, or swerving round a load of people who think 
the middle of a busy crossroads is the best place to stand and take a photo :>
 
ObMisty: I wonder if Haven has a serious traffic problem yet? I mean, its 
grown to a fair size and was built more for defence rather than on a gridplan 
(?European rather than USA?)

Not everyone has mage-gift, but some do.  Yes, he had mage-gift in potential,
Savil would not have noticed it because she was checking for Gifts, not
potential.  If you remember, it was Tylendel who Saw that he had potential.

Van had potential.  She just didn't think much of it,
it was buried too deep of having any (natural) chance

greetings listsibs!

Heyla, all.  I've been lurking for a couple of days now, and I can't
resist putting my two sense in.

First, just so every knows where I'm coming from (sort of), I'm an 18 year
old freshwoman at Douglass College (a women's school), of Rutgers
University.  My exboyfriend, now friend initally forced me into misty,
but I quickly grew to love her as much as he does, if not more.  

On reading. . .: My whole *family* are non readers.  They never understood
why I could spend so much time reading when I could be doing more "useful
things".  Luckily, my friends were voracious readers, although I still led
the pack. <g>  On the subject of non reading S.O.'s, I've been both ways,
and although i suppose it does all boil down to understanding, it's rilly
rilly nice to be with someone who cries at sad endings, too.

On Karal: I agree with the Holocaust theory about him.  He wasn't a
demigod in this.  He cried.  he did foolish things.  He had nervous
breakdowns.  I never had the feeling that this was an easy thing for him.

On the Xena thing: I thing Gabrielle is more than just a sidekick (she is
an Amazon princess, y'know <g>) to Xena and i do see definate similarities
in their relationships, but it is mostly vague.

Now, my questions for thought are:

Has anyone heard the herald tapes?  I've only heard a few songs (Selenay's
two songs), but I fell enraptured.  Does anyone know if the fireart
address to buy the tapes/ CD's is still accurate, or are my dreams about
to be crushed?  If so, does anyone have any recommendations on which are
the best?

My friend who got me into the books and I were once having a discussion on
the whole aspect of lifebonding.  "You know," he said wryly, "she
[misty] makes us believe there is a such thing and now we'll search our
whole lives for it. I hate her for that 'cause she makes me believe."  I
laughed, but it did make me think.  After reading the whole discussion
with Firesong about it in the Storm books, I found that to be an
interesting counter view, with lifebonds as a not-so good thing.  What do
you think?  Are they real?

Nightsong asked about Misty CDs... although I have never heard them, a 
freind of mine recently recieved two (Heralds, Harpers, & Havoc and 
Lovers, Lore, & Loss) from her family, who got them at some prompting 
from her from Firebird. I myself intend to get the CD for By The Sword 
and the nearest opportunity, having been enraptured by the sound-clip I 
heard of "Warrior."

	I just picked up Arrow's Fall from the library (just think-I had 
to REQUEST it!!! All librarys should have all of Misty's books-should be 
manditory!!!!) and I happened to read the dedication on the car trip 
back. It said, and I quote:

My first fantasy-style book I read was in 4th grade.  I don't even remember
what it was called, just that it was by Avi.  People have been giving sort of
mini-bios of themselves; makes me wonder what the "average" person on this
list would be.  How old? Male or female?  From where?  When did they start
reading Misty?  I found the guy who sits behind me in math reading
Oathbreakers the other day, and began wondering what would be the best thing
for him to read next.  (yes, he read Oathbound first).  One of my other
obsessions is wavs.  would it be improper to attach wavs to my letters?  None
of them are Misty-related, but they're often fun.  I just finished Children
of the Night, the only Diana Tregarde book I read.  It was good!  I've
decided that if you want good Misty, you have to stay before 1991.

Hey all again,
This is going to sound really strange, but oh well.  I joined a month or so ago and never 
really introduced myself so this sounded like a good time to do it.  My name is Heather, yes 
I know I got uncreative when it came to a call name but I like the way it sounds.  I'm from 
Brunswick, Georgia but I am currently residing in Athens, Georgia because I am in college at 
the Univerisity of Georgia.  I'm really sorry for saying Georgia so much but if I just say 
Brunswick or Athens I know there will be questions as to which one and where.  I just turned 
18 (yeah!!!) in October and am unfortunately single, but with a whole college to choose 
from, I'm having fun looking.  I have been to Florida (_love_ Disney), the Washington 
D.C.-Maryland-Virginia area, and Washington and Oregon many times, and have even been to 
Thailand four times.  I first started reading Misty when I was younger (ducking); I think it 
was before ninth grade though.  And as I've said before, Children of the Night was my first 
even though I didn't realize it.  In a way I think it is my favorite of all the ones I've 
read, though Vanyel is a close second.  But I've rambled enough about me, so bye!

 I don't know about life bonds but i think sometimes people are just 
ment for each other. 
 My mom and and dad went to the same high school. My father teased my 
mother unmercfully once for a compareison and contrast speach coparing 
my mothe (CAROl) and Barbra. Barbra was beter in every possible way.n He 
ended the the speech with "carol you all knoww she siitting right here. 
Barbra is my pet Trantula."He also put luber grasshopper legs in  her 
icecream. that was when my gramother toldmy mother that she as going to 
marry my dad. anyway  they dated in college but because of a long series 
of events they booth ended up thinking the other had broken up with 
them.
  My dad married another women. He walked out onher when she had an 
abortion before even telling my dad she was pregnat. At this timemy mom 
was living in nashville. 
 AND NOW the really sweet part!Any way  my mom started crying every time 
dads name cameto mind. For yeats she had been thinking if ony I could 
find Aguy like Mike. Any way she thought the spontainious crying was a 
bit odd to say the least. So she decieded to call to see if there was 
anything to it .  aany way she called and got my dads Ex. So she sais in 
a really profisshonal voice "Is MR.DIAMOND there?" MY dads EX. gave her 
a number at  wich she could reach my dad. ANY way  the next time my mom 
came home  it was to be with my dad. As i am not illigimet you can 
probly gues they  got  married and live d pretty much happily ever 
after. Disregarding the normal woes of life. it would be anoying to be 
happy constintly.
 sorry for the long love story that has nothing to do with misty, but 
anyway yes I think there are special bonds between people who TRULY love 
each other.
About Andeshea(SP?) under standing anciant kalidalin(SP?) because of 
Ma'ars memories do we relly think in any langue? and wouldnt his brain 
have all the memories in An'desheas Langue. ( kind of mixed up but i 
think i got my piont accross)
