Come on guys, don't you remember after Kero saved the King from the boar's
mate that she told them that when fighting a new enemy (and she had never
hunted boar before) that you should never have all your forces on the ground,
that she stayed mounted so that she could move quickly if the situation
suddenly turned bad (which it did!)  <sigh> Sorry, don't have text, book has
fallen into a black hole in my room.

I can't remember clearly, does a guardian's strengths/weaknesses have 
anything to do with what position they hold on the web?  I mean, is it 
possible that the eastern guardian died and the candidate for that 
position was more suited to be northern guardian?

I have been wondering that too.  It seems to me a really good story 
line.  I would like to know what happens after Van dies, what all Stef 
does etc., besides, there is a gap of a couple of centuries(?) after 
Magic's P books and Queen books.  Any thoughts?

		IMNSHO as Gwena is Grove born I think it is VERY
unlikely that the bond is weak.  Gwena was, er, made for Elspeth.  Keep
looking if its for a new Monarchs own...

I think that Gwena and Elspeth have a VERY strong bond. Yes, they may seem to
"put up with each other," but they also express a lot of love and concern for
each other. Also, don't forget that Gwena is Grove-born, which makes her very
special. I assume that the need for another Grove-born Companion is that
Elspeth was the first one to bring magic back to Valdemar. So, Elspeth would
most likely have to have a very strong bond so that Gwena could aid her in
using her Mage-gift.

Well, I realy don't know exactly what happened, but I have one observation to
make: somewhere in there, the Collegia made uniforms for trainees. I don't
know the exact text, sorry, but somewhere in MPawn or MPromise it mentions
that it was hard to determine which trainees were which, but in Arrows, all
the trainees had distinct uniforms. Just an interesting observation (at
least, it's interesting to me!).

I think that there should be maybe a standalone book about how Talia became a
sunpriestess of Karse- that whole thing was rather sudden.  And maybe a book
or two about the splitting of the Kaled'a'in
I don't know about anyone else, but I tend to cry at the ends of books- I've
read MPrice about 10 times and the line about "If you love me enough to die
for me, do you love me enough to live for me gets me everytime.  ANyone else
have this problem?

Only everytime I read MPawn, MPromise, and MPrice.  Also happens at the end
of Arrow's Fall.  I'm reading MPawn again now, and I've just made it
through the Chapters of Tears.  ::sigh::


Also, there was a question a while back about how long a candlemark is.
Assuming that the Valdemaran day is 24 hours, a candlemark is an hour long
as given in MPawn right before Savil builds the gate to the Pelagirs -

"Savil had prepared for this; she could replenish herself within a day when
the spell was completed and the Gate dismissed.  But for that critical
period of twenty-four candlemarks she would be exhausted - physically,
mentally, and magically."

You would have to have a pretty stony heart not to cry while reading
MPrice.  It makes me bawl like a baby every time.  It's also pretty hard to
read the Arrows books without crying.

Here's something I was wondering.  What lattitude is Haven at on Velgarth? 
What got me thinking about that is no one but Sherrill and Keren seemed to
know how to do an ice rescue, or that it was extremely important to get
there quickly. Okay,they probably just ran faster than everyone else.
Still, hadn't anyone fallen into the river before Talia got knocked into
it? It seems like ice rescues would be a part of Herald training for
everyone. 

That's all for now.  Just thought I would de-lurk for a second and post
something since this seems to be a slow time.

It was I <me?> that made mention about the Guardian thing... I don't think
it was a matter of the Guardian dying tho, because... <believe it or not,
Amber's actually pulling out the book and quoting!>

That means Luss had been around for awhile in her current position.  I
think it was just an oversite <after all, it took me about 15 readings
before I picked up on it>  But I am curious to know if they could be
switched if need be, what each position entails, etc.

I am reading StormBreaking right now and have found a spot where Tremane
refers to the hundred little gods. He says basically that it is just a good
round number to use and is not supposed to be accurate. It refers to the
number of past Emperors and their consorts. Since most Emperors were high
level mages with extended lives it is likely that they had more than one
consort during their reign. This may account for the use of the oath the 40
little gods maybe refering to just the emperors. Not to complicate things,
but Charliss also said he was the 19th(i think) emperor to sit on the Iron
Throne. Now since the throne was constructed from the weapons on conquered
Kings/rulers there could have been a lot of emperors before the Iron Throne
was constructed. Any ideas on this?
