I have that same pet-peeve when the covers are contradictory or just not even close to what happens in the book. My grandmother had a great expression for this kind of expression: the Suffering of Christ. That's what the artist made Elspeth look. She isn't this kind of person, really. pink and purple? Because she has so many features I would like to have and so many I do have. And her story with Eldan has some similarities to something I experienced. (Un-)fortunately it didn't have a happy ending. To sum it up: I could feel with her. Her struggle with Need, her way with the Whites, etc. It was so real to me, so familiar. Sorry, I don'T have any tag lines (yet! I'm searching!)
