I am so happy! Oh gee. as to why I got burned, the person that said Misty was a bad writer was named Sheri'dah Dos'hellie a mage of quite some power: smiling :but not nearly as resourceful as me....: several listsibs lean closer to hear the tale. :Well it started that I was paying her a visit. And we got to talking and I told her about the list and that Misty was my favorite author.... she said "How could you like those books? She's a terrible writer!" well my temper flared, I have a quick attitude.... and I stood up and said "She is not!" as I'm sure any of you would have done... she got mad and tried to send her falcon Mesmarise after Chenci and Me. Chenci has some attack magic so to speak of and killed the falcon...well not really killed but we can say that Mesmarise won't be trouble for anyone he is caught in a mind-loop thanks to Chenci's bit of magic...... I drew my sword, you see no one challenges me or my friends and if they do I shall defend them till my death. So she tried to set Chenci on fire with a magical flick of her finger, I deflected it with my sword but my sword caught on fire and quickly drew up the hilt to my hand. I dropped my sword, rolled and threw several wicked little daggers at Sheri'dah. When I throw.....I don't miss. But when I turned to find Chenci the small cabin we had been fighting near had caught on fire, and Mesmarise was still in it. I went in to find him and bring him out. As soon as I had him outside I sent cascades of water down on the house so it could cause no further problems. That's where the bad hair cut comes in. I was so intent on the cabin I did not notice Sheri'dahs sister Kia'dia come up behind me. she grabbed my hair and sliced it off as a pre-win trophy if you will..... but Chenci and Mesmarise chased her awhile. Mesmarise was chasing anything that would run from him at this point which is why he was a help. I was able to scare Kia'dia into believing completely that Misty was the best writer and Kia'dia went right to a book store as last I knew...... Anyway that is why I was soaked, smudged with ash, and had a bad hair cut......I guess that's what they call a bad hair day?:Freedom flinched :Well that's done with now. As for this red hair....It won't work with Makana I think perhaps Calico? yes that would be better. And flashy...: Freedom shakes her hair out and it turned to mixed colors black, white, tan, brown no doubt about its Calico. :What do you think?:Freedom asked everyone near her. :should I keep it? or no?: :I think we'll make you flashy yet, Freedom.: Makana winked as she half purred and laughed. ********************************************************************** Walk Free Freedom Justice Walker and her familiar Princess Makana ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 6 Apr 1998 16:44:44 EDT From: AprilS81 To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: Welcome! and Beanie Baby Fluff Message-ID: <5da20fad.35293ebe-+AT+-aol.com> In a message dated 98-04-06 01:01:42 EDT, you write: << Now don't laugh, but I am a closet collector of beanie babies ("closet" because I keep most of them there so my hubbie won't know how many I have) There is an adorable new Teddy that is only available in the UK (naturally he has the Union Jack on his chest). I speak a very little bit of Japanese and I noticed that the Shin'a'in word for yes is the same as the Japanese (Hai, and both pronounced hi), but there are a lot of words that don't correspond. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this, and if anyone had any speculation on the matter . . . 2. I have been trying to figure out T&K's ages (as it's been driving me absolutely *insane* -- not that I wasn't insane before ), and would like some info (since I can't find Obound and I haven't been able to afford Oblood yet). Can anyone tell me how old they were at the beginning of Obreakers? I figure they must have been around 20 when they met (though I don't remember very well), and after that, they must have spent at least a few years building their rep, and it was their third year in Idra's company, so that puts them about 26. Then, by the end they're about 28. Then, does anyone know how long it took before Keth &Jadrek had their first kid, and how long between the kids? I know there're stories about the kids in Oblood, so I thought maybe . . . Anyway, I figure since Lenore is the youngest of 7, so that means *minimum* 35. Then Lenore got married at 17 or 18, had Keth maybe a couple of years later, so that takes them to 55. Then Keth is 17 (I think) when she goes on her quest, which makes them at least 72 when she goes to train with them. After about three years there, maybe 5 years in the Skybolts w/Lerryn, another year before she became Captain, 10 years as Captain, and another year or so with the Valdemar campaign, that makes at least 90 by the end of BTS. Means they must be somewhere in their 100s by Storms, so it makes sense that Tarma's dead. And, yes, I know I've already spent a lot of time thinking about this, but if anyone has more specific times, I'd appreciate it . . . I really want to figure this out so I can *stop* thinking about it . Of course, I doubt anyone actually made it this far. Oh well . . . 3. Did anyone else notice that Keth isn't bothered at all when she goes into Valdemar in Obreakers? I know she's on the border and all, but she also does an Adept manifestation, which ought to arouse the Watchers at least a *little* . Does anyone have speculation on this -- maybe that Misty hadn't solidified the Watchers thing yet? Anyway, sorry for the long post. I hope someone else actually cares about this . . . I would like to know as I am an insatiable collector of stuffed animals (i.e teddy bears) ObMisty: What happened to the Web? I know that Van tied it into the heralds, but what happened next? Dax the Eternal I hearby state my wish to become a member of the clergy of the Goddess of Unicorns. As evidence of my sincerity and committment I offer to the temple a set of 3 carved unicorns - One carved out of amythist, one out of Jade and the 3rd out of Onyx. I hope this petition will be deemed worthy. ***Fluff*** Lisa, Claude and Uni slip inot the Hall of Mist, glad to be back, and way from RL, and the terrors of room cleaning! They revel in the peace and quiet of the hall, and settle down with a good Misty book, while keeping an eye (and ear) open for any signs of exting events in the hall. Next of them appears a bowl full of Easter eggs which they eat while reading, and offer to anyone who would like one. Goodbye to all The Three Stooges Members of OUH Priest/esses of OOPs and reluctant room cleaners. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of MERCEDES-LACKEY Digest 1548 **********************************
