She looks to find apache Tear and falls down to her kness next to her and cries. Apache Tear asks what is wrong and she moans,"Woosa went home. He cannot come back because he must go teach further students at the school. I am sad." Apache Tear nuzzles her and Chenci cuddles in close, while SkyDancer wraps around them all. It is a sad moment that is soon broken when a huge thunder erupts in the hall. All look at the east corner where two spectacular sites enter. One is a huge gold dragon that sparkles like the sun, while the other is an exact copy of Apache Tear except a brilliant ruby red. Heartsong jumps up from the ground and Apache rises too. Then SkyDancer takes off into flight and meets his fellow dragon. They dance in the air together and cuddle. Then Apache Tear runs to the red panther and tumbles with him. Chenci looks on in curiosity and mindsends: Who are they?: Heartsong laughs and embraces each one as they come to her. Then she announces,"This is GoldDust, mate to SkyDancer, and Ember, mate to Apache Tear." GoldDust boughs to the hall and Ember lowers his head in acknowledgement. Then they back to their party and Ember says,"Woosa sent us to keep you company. He also said our mates needed us. But I think it is more the other way around. Besides I got sick of Apache telling me about all the fun she has here with all these people. Now if you do not mind, I would like to relax under our two friends here and catch up on times. Do you think you could get us something to eat?" Heartsong laughed as the group settled in and she winked in two sides of beef and plenty of humus and pita for all. Then she sent mutton to the crying baby dragon and made an official door for Chayla's friend. Finally she minsends to Seasong: If you would like a familiar I can get you one. Just tell me what you would like. Then she settled in with her old friends and just talked. Sorry it got so long. I promise it will be shorter next time. John, when I said that Companions might only speak down the bond to their Heralds it makes sense, someone in AotQ said that there is a mind- mind bond between a Herald and Companion, now to my mind that means that the Companion could speak to anyone, but chooses not to, and the bond makes it hard for them to do so so they don't do it often, remember the Companions are already joined (reason why the Web was feasible). I think that the reason Heralds can speak outside the bond is that the Companions enhance their Mind Speech powers and also 'carry' the Bond, so that the Heralds can speak outside it. Finding the Hall of Mist has encouraged me to start reading my Misty collection again. 1 down only 22 more to go <*g*>. But I'm missing many great books it seems. Look Out Book Store Here I Come <*g*>!!!!! I love all the stories about Velegrath and want to read as much as I can about it. Here is an abbreviated list of the ones I have: The Mage Wars The Last Herald Mage BG MPawn WG MPromise SG MPrice Vows & Honors Kerowyn's Tale Obound BTS Obreakers Heralds of Valdemar The Mage Winds AotQ WoFate AoF WoChange AFall WoFury The Mage Storms SWarning SRising SBreaking I was wondering if anyone can fill me in on anyother books or short stories that go with these. (For example: a story on how Tailia became a Sun Priest) I love to know as much as I can when I get into a world. I also enjoy many other authors: Melaine Rawn, David Eddings, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Robin Hobb, L.E. Modesitt, Robin McKinley, and Jack Whyte. I also enjoyed the combination of Misty with Andre Norton and Larry Dixon. I guess I'm just a book junky <*g*>. Some of the last books I just read were the "Ruins of Ambrai" and "The Mageborn Traitor" in the Exiles series by Melaine Rawn. I really got into the story and can't wait for the third to come out. If there are any other Rawn fans out there who have read these, email me (cjak-+AT+-sullybuttes.net). I have plenty of questions?? By the way is there a Melaine Rawn Mailing list? I know there are a few Sunrunners here so maybe you can help. The Storms trilogy is my favorite next to the Griffon trilogy. I like a story that has more than one main character that you really go in depth about. I liked the LHM trilogy but wnted to more. I love Vanyel but you hardly learn about anyone else in the story. The more characters I have to keep track of the more I get into it. That is why I love Melaine Rawn (you need family trees to keep her characters straight <*g*>). I have noticed that Misty has been including more people in every book. Which just pulls me in for more books! Sorry this is so long. Hope this isn't a sign for the future. Anyway, I just wanted to say that when DAW wrote me back about S&S, they said that the books are generally published between February and April of the the year. Someone brought up alien presences in the Free Bards world. I feel most of the creatures in that world ARE mutations, but the creatures that give an impression of aliens to me are the D... something. OK, where is it. Deliambrens, that's it. Haven't read the book in a while, so can't tag where and why, but I do remember therm being the wierd (technologically advanced) creatures in the world. The book with the Alberich story in it is HorseFantastic, edited by Martin Greenberg. The specific story is "Stolen Silver." It the first story in the book. It was published in 1991, and the ISBN is 0-88677-504-3. Good luck. Which book is it that has Tannim in it? I don't really like the Elven books of Misty's but, I was curious about him. I think they just sort of mentioned TAlia's "promotion." The whole story was never really mentioned. I'd be more interested in finding out how Alberich got the meeting going. You could always assume the false cleric from SoI was connected and helped with contacts. Wasn't the queen the Sunhawks helped from Ceejay? Jenova? What is this? Totally unconnected (almost totally, at any rate) In the blip about "The Enemy of My Enemy" in Fiddler Fair, Misty says she wrote this story in the world created by Robert Adams, Horseclans. It sounds cool. Anyone ever see it, read it, know where I can get it. And before anyone suggests the library, remember this-I owe the library money and don't have it to give. They don't like me.
