April said: ~~Also, has anyone happened upon a little book called Sword of Ice? Those who read the Last Herald Mage will recognize this name as beloning to a particular adept friend of Savil. It is an anthology of stories by various authors set in Valdemar and the surronding environs. I stumbled upon it quite by accident.~~ I bought Sword of Ice some time ago, I absolutely loved the stories, except one, which I dont have the name to. (Cymrey smartly took the book to school with her, for reading period of course, and left it in one of the desks. It promptly disappeared. ~~~SOB~~) If anyone knows of some more books like Sword of Ice, could they please let me know, I'm always looking for ways to increase my collection of books and knowledge. Also, a little, very little fluff: ~~~~~~ Cymrey wanders quietly throughout the Halls, watching as people play and talk. She grimaces at herself, and... :Oh, stop feeling so sorry for yourself, you keep waking me up: Her familiar, the white finch named Raven, interrupted her thoughts. :You could go try to make some friends you know: Cymrey rolled her eyes :And you, oh wise one, could try to stay awake for ten minutes. But, your right, I really want to make some friends here, instead of just contributing every once and a while.: :Well, then, do so. But no more comments about my sleeping habits.: :Yes, oh.... nevermind: Cymrey stopped her teasing comment as she realized the bird had had the adaucity to fall asleep again. She chuckled to herself and moved on. ~~~~ Okay, not very good at the fluffy. Zhai'helluva, Cymrey Member of the Order of Unsung Heros (Vree!! and Hylarr!!!) She looked up from her stack of books to see her companions come in. She watched as Kiarrith flew in, staying remarkably close to the ground for the Crystal Dragoness. Normally, she liked to show off how high and fast she could fly. Kat and Catling had hitched a ride w/ the dragoness. In her maw she carried a few carcasses from some game animals she had brought down. After her came KiT in her Huntress mode, a black Panther the size of which was quite out of the ordinary. She also carried a few small animals in her mouth. Muse watched as all 4 predators politely moved into the far end of the forest/garden to eat their meal away from any who might be offended. She turned in time to see Bai Kai Ling and Karen drift in. Litterally drift. Kai Ling had used some of her magics to cause herself and Karen to drift a foot off the ground. That alone would have told Muse how tired she was. Kai Ling never wastes magic energy needlessly if she could do it mundanely. When they neared Muse they both droped to the ground and once again had weight. Karen slightly staggered over to Muse, her condition worsened by the use of magic on her. She wordlessly opened her carrysac to hand Muse some of the cooked meat she had caught and roasted on the Hunt. Kai Ling walked more gracefully over to Muse to offer her some of the fruits, herbs, roots, and vegtables she had gleaned. She turned slightly green at the sight and smell of the cooked meat. Then she turned and noticed the lovely garden for the first time. She frowned as she didnt remember it being there the last time she was in the Hall. Muse explained to her, "It is a thoughtful gift from another inhabitant of the Hall. It is quite large. If you need some time away from us meat-eaters, i am certain you can find a small niche that is peaceful and beautiful enough to meet your needs." Kai Ling gave her a look of gradtitude and melted deeper into the garden. Karen picked up some of the fruits and vegtables and her packet of roasted meat. She too wandered farther into the forest, to explore some. Karen curled up in the shade of a maple tree with a full stomach and fell instantly into a deep slumber.. *NOTE* Bai Kai Ling is Chinese. in China, they put their surnames before their given names. so her 'first' name is Kai Ling. and her 'last' name is Bai. == God bless and keep you!! She jumps off of her friend and lands next to her two panthers that teleported there. She changes her gown to a red and black tye-dye to match her red and black panther friends. Then Ember turns into royal blue to contrast Heartsong while Apache Tear turns green. Now Heartsong looks out of place as she reaches Cymrey. She growls,"Familiars, why do they have to be so contrary. Then Heartsong changes to white leather as Chenci lands on her arms and climbs to her shoulder. "Hello Cymrey. I would like to be your friend if you would have me as such. My name is Heartsong and I am an Adept. These are all my friends. SkyDancer is the big blue dragon, Ember is the red panther and mate to Apache Tear the black panther and this is Chenci, my flying sister. GoldDust is mate to SkyDancer, but she is thinking of seeking SilverWind's company. Just then GoldDust appeared at Heartsong's side. She looked at her questioningly. GoldDust replied,"I came to see SkyDancer and I am not sure yet about SilverWind. Well I better go." With that she slipped away. Then Heartsong handed Cymrey a fluffly sheep and Apache Tear and invited,"Come and join me at the Waterfall. That is where we are always at and we could plane some mischief. Besides those two furballs could use some exercise." Heartsong headed towards the Waterfall and waved for Cymrey to come.
