First of all, the Hearstone was set in place by Vanyel like someone else stated. But the web was in place long before like somone else stated. Vanyel created the original stone to set up the Vrondi and to take over the job of the four tower guardians since the mages were being killed off or dieing and there were no new trainees to replace them. So Vanyel wanted to setup a way to keep Valdemar safe after all the mages were gone and to relieve people like his aunt from the duty of the towers. The actual Heartstone was where the power to feed the Vrondi was held. Now that I think of it. This is also why all heralds are able to call down the truth spell. Because technically they do not have to call down the Vrondi with their power. they just have to be able to call the spell. You do not need magic to say a spell, just to call the spell. I think that lifebonded would be the best thing to be, but I also agree that it could cause much pain. One of my friends had the symptoms of a lifebonded and her mate was so confused about himself that he ran from her and back to the woman that abused him. But the wierd part is that he still asks for her and has all his friends threaten her boyfriends to leave her alone. Also they both know when the other is hurting and see eachother in their dreams when they think about eachother. I think this is a lifebond if I ever saw one. (laugh) I just wish they would get their acts together. I think the only sad part is that she hurts inside and cannot find anyone else. It likes she is wearing away in the inside like Kerowyn did. It's sad and I am worried about her. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to help her? I agree with Jerri on the issue of fluff. The only thing I can say is maybe if everyone puts it at the end of their messages, then people can read it if they want to or they can just delete it. No one forces them to. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++Fluff Alert+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Heartsong thanks Katie for all the stones and gypsie hairs. She uses one hair to light the Hall and send warmth to all. She then uses another to send a huge resevoir of power to Muse for her friends. Then she makes skirt of every bright color of the rianbow and hands it to her. then she notices the beautiful new bracelet and thanks Caliet mentally and promises to never take it off. Then she tells Ranbow that the dragon is a Worba and if she wants one, Heartsong will make her one. SkyDancer and GoldDust curl up around the Windracer and feed the baby and play with it, while sunbathing. Heartsong sighs as she realizes there will soon probably be a baby between those two before long. Then she sees the same with Apache Tear and Ember curled up together. "Great a whole clane of familiars. What am I going to do? Thank God you don't have a mate here too Chenci." Chenci mindsends:I don't wat a mate. It's not time to settle down. Heartsong pets him amd heads to Seasong. She taps her on the shoulder and says I have the perfect bonded for you." She then winks into her hands a small ball of fur. It has small legs with small furry paws. IT looks like a small fluff ball cat. It has hugs blue eyes and a white coat. It's fur is as soft as silk and it mews a meoldious tune. "This is a special breed of cat that rarely leaves my home world because it is very dependent on its bonded. You cannot ignore her or she will die. She cannot leave your side at any cost and she needs all your love. But in turn she can do any task you set to her and she can block any spell and teleport her bonded anywhere. Plus she has several spells up her sleeve. I do not know her name becaus eshe will not reveal it to anyone before she is bonded. PLEASE take care of her. She is a very precious breed to our clan because she brings so much love and happines to all." Finally, Heartsong Gotes to Ari and sits with her. " I am not Windsong, but I would love to be your friend and so would Chenci here. We are kind excluded from our family as the only ones not paired off. Here is a big fluffy sheep." It says -- "The Queen's Own and her escorts assumed their places behind the thrones, Talia in her placebehind and to Selenay's right, Kris and Dirk behind and to either side of her." To be that close to someone, to know you are needed and loved just as much as you need and love them. It would be great! I really usually stick to that thought, until I go back and read the very thought provoking arguments many of the characters in Misty's books have. (Sorry, I am not in my house with all my books, or I would dig up some quotes!) It seemes to be a two-sided thing, but the good results definately outnumber that bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would also like to suggest that posters keep their fluff completely separate from other subjects. Then people can read what suits them and simply delete out what doesn't. Ok? On lifebonds: I certainly agree that lifebonds truly do happen. The way Misty describes lifebonds is exactly the kind of relationship I had with my late fiancee. Knowing that someone loves and needs you as much as you love and need them is truly a powerful feeling, as I can say from experience. For the two years that we were together we could never be apart for very long without getting very depressed(even physically sick sometimes)and half the time we seemed to know each other's thoughts without any words being spoken. That ended when she was shot by the UVF in Northern Ireland back in '94. To my mind, the way Misty had Vanyel feel and act after Tylendel's suicide is fairly close to the way I felt after Trudy died. I can empathise with Van because I blamed myself for ages, and unlike Van I felt the death was totally my fault: after all, despite ten years of martial arts, I was too slow to stop the gunman before he fired. I guess for that reason Van is one of my favourite characters in Misty's books. Unlike Van, I haven't(yet anyway)found anyone new, but who knows what may happen in the future... On subject headers: I too am on the Rawn list, and I agree, the header system works well there. I'm also on a couple of other lists which are still discussing formalising a system of headers. However, we are told (by Cennydd and occasionally others)that it is preferable to post one long message a day rather than several shorter ones, which would seem to contradict the concept of putting all the Misty- relevant content in one post and fluff in another post, etc. It doesn't bother me much either way, I average 500-600 messages a day as it is, but I understand that some people on the list would have trouble if the list traffic increased to the degree that it would by Grace's suggestion concerning headers. So it would most likely be best, in my opinion anyway, to maintain the status quo (with fluff being at the end of each post so that people who don't want to read it don't have to, or if getting digest form can scroll past it quickly).
