I own the book myself and it contains short stories by many different people. Misty herself didn't write any of them. She just edited other ppl's stories. I thought some of them were rather good, even though I usually don't go for short stories because they end too quickly. Once I get to know and like a character I tend to want to see more of them. :) I have the *Sword of Ice* compilation in front of me-Misty did in fact co-write three of the short stories in the book: "Sunlancer" co-written with Philip M. Austin, "Sword of Ice" co-written with John Yezeguielian, and "Blue Heart" co-written with Austin; the rest of the stories are written by others and edited by Misty because the stories take place in her copyrighted world. I read TF when it came out, and loved it.  If you have read the Castle of Deception books, there is a similar maze that they have to get through (I think).  TF is a fairly traditional rendition of the firebird legend, and is very well written. -S

Alright, who knows something about a new SERRAted Edge book. I know someone
mentioned it. Come on. I love that series, and would appreciate any
information, even if it is to say it is all a vicious rumor (which would save
me hours of fruitless searching and arguments with librarians and bookstore
owners.)

All I can say about a new SE book is that it is called Tempest Fugit and features the band Tempest and Tannim (I think).  The original release date was March, but last I heard it was delayed indefinitely.  Valdemar's Heartstone  keeps pretty up to date on release dates for Misty's books.

Saraine - he is a Japanese fox-spirt, and appears in "Chrome Circle", as
he is a friend of Tannim.

He is also in Born to Run - S

They share the same basic plot, but they're pretty different in many of the details. (I've never seen the original firebird legend, though, so I can't compare either book to it.) -- "Daddy, why do those people have to | Greg Wooledge use Microsoft Windows?" | wooledge-+AT+-kellnet.com "Don't stare, son; it's not polite." | http://www.kellnet.com/wooledge/ ------------------------------ End of MERCEDES-LACKEY Digest 1564 **********************************
