I guess I should have said the Bard's Tale books. I just couldn't remember the title and didn't have the book with me to reference. Firebird is actually pretty close to the original tale, I think. I know that I have read something pretty similar before, but I'm kind of hazy as to the exact textevd. Been busy and haven't had alot to comment on lately. It happens form time to time. Always wanted to comment about this sheep thing. I have a few and my uncle has 450 sheep so it is kind of a family thing I can identify with. So here is a few cotton candy sheep for everyone!!! On to more important business. I just read a message by Melaine Mouck. And here message does make sense that we really don't need 4K or more of fluff alone even though I happen to like to write it. I try to keep some Misty with my fluff so there is something for everyone. Melaine wrote: >>Okay for you to love fluff(I don't really mind it)but PLEASE don't >>post 4K messages with nothing BUT fluff in them. I mean, it's kinda >>boring. Thanx But!! and that is a big but! Her reply was 6K long for that short message. And I am not just complaining about her, I have seen quite a few do this. When she wanted to reply to a message she ended up copying the whole message. I read through it all just to see if she responded to anything else. Instead I got a message I had already read once. Now I don't want you all to think I am upset or anything else. I just thought that since we need to keep our fluff a little more contained and that people are complaining about the amount of mail that we should snip out the parts that we want to reply to and dump the rest so our messages are so lengthy with things we have already read. Hope this sounds plausible to you all. (Really hoping I'm not offending anyone and going to get flammed or something!!) So here I am going on and I haven't added any Misty yet. This I think is going to be a spoiler though. I was looking in SBreaking for info on Gestren(?) and I found so info on Iftel I thought I'd share. If you don't want to look I'll sign off now otherwise there is a spoiler at the end! Wind to thy wings Cailet Flameflower Shimmer the Worba * *S * *P * *O * *I * *L * *E * *R * Storm Breaking page 333 (Paperback) This happens when Tremane and the others find out that the Iftel border has opened up and that they are sending Ambassadors to Haradon. Elspeth is telling everyone what she knows about Iftel. :"Quite some time after the Founding," Elspeth addmitted. "Their barrier was already in place then, at least according to the Chronicles. It was a merchant who was first allowed inside, and it has mostly been merchants who crossed since.": So guess there has always been a barrier and it was probably just strenghtened when Ancar tried to attack. Message-ID: <19980422.183514.6351.4.shadowspun-+AT+-juno.com> Ever since I read the part in AoQ about the basic sketch of King Valdemar's trip I've been dying to hear the rest. I mean, come on, Teren says the rest will be filled in later, but I wanted to hear it all then! Shadowdancer and Sunsinger would be interesting, too. I kind of wonder what the heck they did to tick off the people who cursed them? Of course, that may be in the songs, but I haven't read those in a while. I doubt it's any consolation, but there is the part in the Winds series about the break-up of the Kaled'a'in. They didn't go south. :) Also, the stuff about the Empire. I want stories about the Empire. There must be at least ONE good person there. You know, Baron Melles gets SPLAT! If Brightly Burning is going to be a book, I'll be the first in line. The poor guy. About the gifts, what really odd gifts have popped up? There was Eldan's animal mindspeech; Griffon and Lavan's firestarting; Talia's application of her gift was more distinctive than just the gift itself, apparently. Although someone in the books said her gift usually manifests itself WITH the Healing gift. Who/what else? Oh! Ghost/Leshya was something of a Mindhealer. That was apparently odd for a Companion. I just saw something on Firebird about a new book in the Di world. But it was about Andre! Blood and something. Yay! Oh, Oathblood is a DAW book, with the ISBN 0-88677-773-9. I sent it private, but my mail got bounced back. Does anyone know anything about this??? Thanks. Yes, Owlflight has been out for a few months now. It takes place in Valdemar, in a small town bordering on the Pelagiris Forest. It takes place after the events in the Storms trilogy. The protagonist is a young man named Darien who is an apprentice to a Mage. The book is basically a juvenile, and for me wasn't as gripping as most of her other Valdemar novels. It's likely that this will be the first book in a trilogy following Darien (but that's a guess on my part, without any hard evidence). -- "Daddy, why do those people have to | Greg Wooledge use Microsoft Windows?" | wooledge-+AT+-kellnet.com "Don't stare, son; it's not polite." | http://www.kellnet.com/wooledge/ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Apr 1998 20:50:50 -0500 From: Cliff Keller To: "'mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk'" Subject: Look out it is Fluff! I heared her called, Kat." the worba hurriedly explains. "Well then let's leave the garden and go welcome her." Cailet and Shimmer wander through the Halls until they come across a new face.
