I agree with you two Heartsong and Karen. People marry these days only for a mate. When what we need to search for is a completer. And want would a life bond do but complete two people. We search for things to make us happy and sometimes we settle for just want is comfortable. Instead of that one true love that in the days of our youth we were told was a myth. I dont believe that its a myth or just somethingy Misty came up with. Somewhere out there is a completer for all souls. Some people believe it, some don't, and while there's no harm discusing it, we will never reach a decision. I have never met anyone that has one, but I would like to believe they are out there. -- Kat;-) Surianna Kylara(faithful Hedgehog) I am all that I claim to be, I simply have not claimed all that I am - Kethry ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 25 Apr 1998 17:36:52 -0500 From: littlebees-+AT+-bbs.tsf.com To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Lifebonds v. Lovebonds Message-ID: Somebody asked a while ago whether one would prefer a lifebond or a lovebond. I guess it's a personal thing, and everyone's been responding talking about their lifebonds. Now I'm not planning on getting involved in the current argument as to whether lifebonds actually exist, because I seem to have no real view on the subject. I'm a teenager, I mean, come on, I feel lust 99% of the time, and recognizing love when I find it seems a somewhat insurmountable task. Anyway, just to throw my two cents in, if I had a choice between a life- and love-bond, I think I would choose a love bond. I don't know. . .to me a lifebond really seems more trouble than it's worth. . .I mean look at Dirk when he thought Talia was dead (sorry, I'm too lazy right now to get text-evd) or when Ylsa died, how Keren went into the shocky-type thing that Sherill had to pull her out of. . .or when 'Lendel died, how Van reacted. . I could continue, but I won't. To me, love seems more important. Love means that you have to work to stay together, that no magical force ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 25 Apr 1998 20:09:31 -0400 From: Katie Elizabeth Owen To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: BOOKS! Message-ID: <35427B3B.71EE-+AT+-snet.net> I'm new on the list, so HI to All of you out there! Just wondering about this. > I just saw something on Firebird about a new book in the Di world. But > it was about Andre! Blood and something. Yay! Does anyone know anything more about this? I love the Di books and would really appreciate more info. Also, anything about Tannim out there? And it is also mentioned to Karal that the Companions are reincarnated Hearalds in the last Storms book. Another hint was that Kris's Companion, Tantris, was friends with Sayvil, and the two Heralds Tantris and Savil were friends in their time. Message-ID: <4.0.1.327.19980425202841.00dff1c0-+AT+-internet_link> Ok, I just had to ring in on this. I would say that I have a lovebond. My husband and I are very devoted to each other, and know how each other think in certian situations. Like, someone will say something, and we will both think of the same reply, or joke. I do not think this is a lifebond. We don't know what each other think all the time. Nor do we comunicate perfectly. We do have our propblems, but we always find a way to work them out. Love has alot to do with that. We have been married 5 years, and knew each other 4 years before that. When we married I was 21 and he was 22. We have 2 cats, and 2 dogs, that we consider our children. No little ones for us yet, but we are not yet sure that we want any. (He doesn't, I do sort of) Who knows, maybe time will tell. (sorry that I went on and on about myself) sheepish grin Ok a better Obmisty: umm umm umm ah here we go I would like a story on how Iftel got started, that coincides with the Founding of Valdemar. I think that this would be neat. Lifebonds are noticeable within a few days the two meet ala "Love at First Sight" 2. Lifebond as a very strong Lovebond. So, for those who believe (or have an opinion =) can a person take a Lovebond and have it become strong enough to become a Lifebond? Also, if the bonds exist in the real world, which would be more common? It will never happen =( While I believe that Misty's work is strong enought to make one of the best RPGs around I would think the paranoia about fan fiction indicates the Misty will probably be against any RPG of her work since that would put too much power in the hands of the fans. Just look at the hard feelings between Old TSR and the internet gamers when they tried to control content on the net. **Returning to the mist *** I Taynar Fenrir I "If it wasn't for reality we wouldn't I fenris-+AT+-ptdprolog.net I be needing all this fantasy." ------------------------------ End of MERCEDES-LACKEY Digest 1569 **********************************
