I was wondering if this subject would come up again : ) The last time it did it went on for weeks we came up with loads of possibilities of who would play who, in the end there was a definitive cast list printed. I no longer have a copy but maybe some other oldbie might. >> I would love to see that list. We have done this over and over on the Rawn list. We have come up with some pretty good ones and some downright awful ones. For me though, I guess *my * idea of Van is mine and mine alone, as is everyones I suppose. It would be hard for me to choose someone to play him as no one would do him justice . At least in my mind... which is a work in progress...... lol. I have some very favorite books, one of which is being made into a movie and, as it turns out, is NOTHING like the book. Sad to say the strong, sexy, larger than life main character is being played by James Woods. < shudder> Ummm...yaaa.. hes larger than life alright!! Sorry to all the James Woods fans out there. You would have to read the book to know what I mean. One must MUST MUUUUST read it for themselves to get the full effect. Of course that is only if you like books about vampire killers that is . It is amazing and so very very well written. He makes the characters larger than life and soo..soo cool, for lack of a better word. LOL. If you have not read it, DO!! This is one book you cannot miss even if you are not " into" vampires. Now that I have given my book review for the day I will shut up. Maybe I should be his agent.... what do you think?? But Van dreams of being attacked by an army of mindless monsters (Leareth's man) at a mouth of a pass through a mountain, and being able to control the lightning and then dying alone on the very night he finally tells Lendel about his feelings. In fact, Lendel wakes him from this very dream. Since Lendel is obviously alive at this point, then it's before Van is "awakened" magically. <> No problem. http://www.interware.it/users/blackjack/ An excellant page. I have another favourite question for all of you. Besides Misty, who is the favourite Sci-Fi/Fantasy author? Yes, I think movies would be a good idea if someone would do it RIGHT! But, as we have seen with many many other movie adaptions of book -- Hollywood doesn't believe in doing it right. So I think I will stick to watching my own imagination while reading -- its probably makes us happier in the end. >> To quote a post from a while ago by I-don't-remember-who: "This is the thread that never ends! Yes it goes on and on my friends! Some people started posting it not knowing what it was, and they'll continue posting it forever just because this is the thread that never ends..." This is the seventh time I've had to deal with this on ~any~ list, but I don't mind. No, really. Maybe the newbies will come up with something that hasn't been said before. I don't know what I did with the books, so I'm not absolutely positive, but I think so. And I remember Darkwind mentioning that no one had had this particular type of bondbird before. Yet in Winds of Change p.296, it says: "In fact, I remember one of the mages from my childhood who had a broken winged crow that couldn't fly at all, and _walked_ all over the Vale." So does anyone know the reason for this inconsistancy, or maybe I'm misremembering the breed of Starwind's bondbird. Also, I just want everyone to know of the act of sacrilege perpetrated in my house; my 14 year old sister was angry at me, and as an act of revenge, she tossed Winds of Change into the bathroom sink, and turned on the water! We're talking major torture here. And then, to top it all off, she locked the door with me on the outside, and described, moment-by-moment what was happening to my poor, poor book. It was complete, ultimate torture. . .Ancar couldn't do worse on his best day!
