I don't have a book in front of me but I THINK???? that Savil said that all of Van's channels were blasted open and ragged with pain -- except the healing one. I think she means it was open but such a tiny bit that it wasn't that big of a problem. Van had a very miniscule healing power -- i.e. why he learned to use herbs instead -- so it was never an issue in his blasting open problem. ????? Like I said this is just my crazy memory at work. I am thinking about it and it seem logical, but I have to re-read the Black Griphon (and part of the Storms trilogy) before making a more formal statement. IMHO it's both singular and plural as in sheep (singular) and sheep (plural). Someone replying to my post said: I don't consider NOW to be terribly radical. (SCUM: society for cutting up men. Now that's radical!) However, I think it's important that radical ideas and organizations are out there. If nothing else, left and right wing radicals serve to tip the balance somewhere in the middle. I apologize for the political statement about NOW. My personal views make their position seem radical. I will keep my political opinions to myself from now on unless people email me privately. It was something like this. Because Rose loved him and he loved her it brought out his humanity and made him able to control his wolfish side. ***END OF SPOILER ShadowWolf, God of Stupid Chess Moves Knight of Fluff, Founder of OOPS Bonded with Wesak and Waszzy "My mind is going...I can feel it." --HAL-- ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Jul 1998 11:05:12 -0700 (PDT) From: cdelker-+AT+-earthlink.net To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: Lackey Lyrics Message-ID: <199807011805.LAA06687-+AT+-ireland.it.earthlink.net> I know we are not suppose to post lyrics to Lackey songs, but if someone could privately E-mail me the lyrics to the following songs. I had the tapes but lost them, and know most of the lyrics to the songs, just missing one or two lines. It's very frustrating knowing almost a full song but one or two lines. Duke's Eldest Daughter Dark and Stormy Night Threes Sun and Shadow After Midnight Herald's Lament (I think that's it's name, I call it Queen's Own.) Dream Rider Snow Magic If anyone want to e-mail me other lyrics, I wouldn't mind either. But I'm really looking for the ones above. Thanks. Iftel has a Guardian who takes a very apparent interest in the well being of its people and has created the Barrier that keeps people who don't belong out. The real mystery is why Karal was able to penetrate the barrier (the Guardian recognized something in him). Iftel is important because Elspeth and company recognize that the Guardian can somehow deflect or absorb most of the Mage Storm effects (up until the storms got too strong and it had to allow Karal in), and it would be really useful to find out just how it managed such a feat. All of this is answered in the last book, so all I can say is get it as soon as you can (don't worry, the suspense won't kill you - it will just make you wish it did). Sorry if I sound so mysterious, but any more would spoil it. ********************************************************************************** Has it ever been decided if Elspeth and Darkwind are lifebonded or not? I ask because the channeling of power to each other that they do seems to me very like the way Vanyel was able to send energy to 'Lendel when he was building the gate. Either they are able to mesh powers very well because of their love for eachother, or they have some sort of link that allows them to do so. Does this sound right, or am I missing something? I've always wondered whether or not they have a lifebond or a very strong lovebond. ************************************************************************************ OIB: Seasong bows deeply to her leader as she accepts the Sword. I finished the Arrows of the Queen last night and re-realized that the Mage giift was gone. Somehow, I figured that by this ime, sombody would have figured it out, but apparently they didn't. Anyway, I just wanted to know if the full-blown Mage gift appears in the late books. I really don't want to know which ones if it does, cause I don't want to ruin it for me, but..... Does It???
