I'm working on a production called "Maricela de la Luz Lights the World" (is anyone else familier with it?) and sponge painting my rear off, but i finally got a chance to check my email, and i figured it's time to stop lurking on the names thread: i have a tendencey to misread names the first time i see them and so i have a tendency to get all befuddled. For example the first time i read LHM i read yfandes name as yfandels, inserting an "L" near the end so now even though i know it's yfandes my brain reads that "L" and i mispronouce it. On other pronounciations: Tylendel ty-LEND-el Tayledras tay-LAY-dras Vanyel VAN-yel Yfandes y-FAN-des (except when i put that rogue "L" in there) Selenay Sell-uh-ney Karal Kar-L Cymry Sim-ree on other issues the whole gay and lesbian issue seems to have brought itself to the list. my mother is a lesbian so as a rule i tend to be open minded. however, the place i went to high school was a small rural PA town where people were anything but. on a more positive note, i now attend emerson college which has the most open atmophere that i have ever come across. the campus is about 65% gay, lesbian, or bisexual, so it takes a bit much to phase the students here. right now the on campus gay/lesbian/bi organization is geared up for national coming out month and has all sorts of activities (like dragtober fest) the sad part is that they also have to take time out of all of their positive programs to hold memorial services for the young man who was beaten to death. it's events like that, that bring me back to the real world where everything is not as open and as accepting as it is here sigh onward to more happy things i really can't add too much on the elspeth thread, for i haven't read those books in such a long time. but i do remember that the winds books weren't as strong as her others everyone keeps adding her/his two cents about misty's other books... how are they? are they readable? are they good? i have a lull in my required reading for my courses and am looking for something to read, any thoughts? i would also like to thank everyone for all of the spooshing *as she dries herself off and reaches into her bag for a pot full of hot coco and a bag full of sheep-shaped marshmellows, help yourself everyone, for those of you who have also been recently spooshed the coco should warm you up, 'cause that water's cold oh, i also noticed that there is another judy on the list, so i'm gonna call myself something else to avoid confusion...my new list name is going to be xepher. if anyone is already using that name or objects for any reason, give me any email of list at kechara9-+AT+-hotmail.com simpsons halloween tonight!!!!!! (any simpson fans?) i think thats it fight lurkdom! xepher (formerly judy :-) ps. any xena fans in list land? ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of MERCEDES-LACKEY Digest 1764 **********************************
