Basically- can >someone give me a short recap of what happened to the characters at the end of >the book. Okay, most of it has been answered till this mail got sent off but here it is nevertheless completely all together. Karal and An'desha went on the Moonpaths together where they met Dawnfire and Tre'valen as well as Florian and Need in their human form. The avatars told them that they had overstepped their bounds and could not come back to the physical worlds because they had lost part of what held them to there. An'desha can, however, visit them on the Moonpaths anytime. Florian then told Karal that Vanyel, Stefen/Tylendel and Yfandes had "made decisions about their destinations" but could not tell him what they decided, only "it's going to be fine". Florian hinted that he himself would return as a Herald. Need's answer is worth to be read in the original: "... as for me, I'm taking a long-delayed rest. Maybe you'll see me and maybe you won't, but I'll be damned if I ever go sticking myself into a piece of steel again." (SBreaking, page 460) Karal, Master Levy and the mage Sejanes went back to Haven, Lo'isha (the Shi'na'in shaman) and An'desha were staying on the Plains and SIlverfox, FIresong, Tarrn (the Kyree) and Lyam (the hertasi) went to k'Leshya Vale. As usual its about Bards. And there is only 3 books in this set. 'Castle of Desception, Fortress of Frost and Fire, and Prison of Souls'. Each has the charterer Naitachal in them. Although his is only star role in two books. In these books its the time when real magic was possible. Unlike the books 'The Free Bards' where the can make people do what they want. Bards in these books can do anything from make light from darkness to fight off huge monsters with songs. Elfs, Farieys, humans, Orcs, the whole nine yards is included in these books. Necormancers, Socerers, Bards, Clerics and much more. The first of the books starts out a Bardling named Kevin is summoned forth by his Master to go and copy a scroll at a local Counts castle. Kevin has never been outside the little town he has lived in for so many years and is very excited to go. Durning his stay there some odd things happen and the Count's neice is kidnapped. So the count appoints Kevin to lead a squad of four people to find her. And that is where the true fun begins. I won't tell you what happens so as not to ruin the books. It seems like all I have done in the past three weeks is work on papers for my classes. And now finals are coming.......WAAAAAAAHH!!!, Whew! I needed that. readme asked: > I started reading Lackey's books a while back but i soon came to > notice that most of them are older like years of 1995 and back. No new > ones like 97,98. Does she still write new books? Well, the most obvious ones are Owlflight and Owlsight released in 1997 and 1998. Umm others that were released in 96 include White Gryphon, the last one in the Storms trilogy, Four and Tweny Blackbirds and Firebird. If you want to check on the to be released books go to www.firebirdarts.com and they have a list of books that Misty is working on although it has not been updated for awhile. Some people have been talking about the Di Tregarde books and I love them, too bad there won't be anymore. I know some of you have mentioned the short story "Satanic, Verses" in MZB's magazine, but there is another short story called "Killer Byte" that also appeared in that magazine. Really good story and alot of fun, sort of shows Misty's opinion about the internet and Anne Rice. This was a few years ago but it me hope that there was going to be another book, then I read "The Last Straw" on Firebird and I knew that it would never happen, sigh. If you are fan of the Tregarde series you might want to take a look at the Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton. Everyone else has probably already noticed this, but I just realized that in The Ship Who Searched Misty and McCaffrey managed to include the names of some of their writer friends specifically Tanya Huff, S.M. Stirling, Josepha Sherman and Esther Friesner. At one point in the book Tia calls an investment broker and the names of the brokers are Friesner, Sherman, Stirling and Huff. I must have read this book three times and I just figured it out **shrug** all the brain cells must not have been working or something. I was introduced to the Arrow's of the Queen books back yonder in high school when an old boyfriend called me "Little Bird" all the time. He wouldn't tell me what it meant and gave me this book by an unknown author to read instead. Mystery solved I went on my merry way. Fast forward five years. I decide to go get the first in the trilogy (I think I read the second and third books only), I got a bit wrapped up in Talia's story (oh! Strangely enough, Talia has been my favorite name for about seven years -- until I opened up the Arrows books, I'd never heard the name anywhere else...). I finished up the trilogy and went on to The Mage Winds... and then started Mage Storms. I've finished Storm Warning and recently purchased By the Sword (I'm a bit out of order, I know -- but I'm hoping for a bit of connection with Talia's life. Last I knew, she'd just married Dirk and had smashed feet. Then along comes Winds of Fate and she's got kids. Does By the Sword offer any info on the time in between?) I've just learned (via this list) that Owlflight continues with some of the same characters, so I'm glad that my reading won't stop with the end of the Mage Storms. That's about it. Apologies for large quantities of fluff. Just wanted to make myself known.
