I have been off the list for quite sometime. Anyway, I guess I'll just dive back in! >Well, what happened to Stef was all outlined in MPrice, so >far as I can remember... he went back to Haven after Vanyel >died, and worked all the rest of his life carrying out >Van's wish that the people realize that the Heralds are >just as good as the Herald-Mages, and then he was taken >up to the Forest of Sorrows and died there to be left >with Van to guard the place. On pg. 883 in the combined trilogy book I quote.... Vanyel's "spirit" talking to Stef.. "You have to use your Gift to convince the people of Valdemar that the Gifts of Heralds are enough to keep them safe. You and every Bard in the Circle. Which means that first you have to convince the other Bards, then the Circle has to convince the rest of the realm." He agreed to do this in order to earn his right to join Vanyel in the Forest of Sorrows upon his death. Still I think a story about his adventures and his trials during the time that he had to convince everyone that he was right would be fun to read. May the Road Rise to Meet You, ~Danae~ a.k.a. Sorry. << Talia was a healer of a kind. >> Talia, Talia.......I just finished Arrow's Fall last night, and I know this is a very, very old topic but someone asked whose death affected you the most- well, it was Tylendel's, but Kris' death was a pretty darn close second. I LIKED Kris. I really did. He was a nice guy. OK.. Anyway, I was going to go after the thread about what Talia'd be nowadays. I betcha she'd be either a doctor in a free clinic or a counselor (...for lack of better word...psychologist?) in the same. She's so selfless I couldn't see her doing anything for money. ok, I love you, bye-bye... d'accord, je t'aime, au revoir, au revoir....... I thought that most of you probably don't have my obsession with foreign films and might not have any idea of who Stefano Dionisi was so I did some looking and found this web sight: http://www.geocities.com/Paris/Metro/1731/index.html it has some really good pictures of him if any of you are at all curious. Windy asked: > 1) Which of her trilogies are sold in one book? I thought I saw the LHM > series in one...anyone know? Yes they are available. Last Herald Mage, The Arrows Trilogy, Tarma and Kethry, and the Free Bards have all been made into single books. Most of them are or were available from the Sci Fi bookclub. Oh, if any of you loved the Serrated Edge and Eric/Beth/Kory books you might want to try Cold Iron and Sister to the Rain by Melisa Michaels. They deal with elves in rock bands and as artists. In the world this author creates everyone knows that elves exist but when they come to this world they lose most of their magic except for the artistic type. They are both really good but they don't get into magic too much. According to the blurb, it's supposed to be new short stories; the Baen page is www.baen.com if you want to check it out for yourself. As for what Talia, Van, Stef, etc. would be, here's my ideas: Talia: some sort of social worker/counselor, probably in a large city, not making much $$$, but very committed Van: I don't see him as a policeman, rather as a paramedic, firefighter, or EMT. I think that there would be too many rules & regs for him to be a policeman Stef: musician of some sort, maybe a music teacher by day??? (weren't Bards supposed to teach as well??) Selenay: senior gov't official, perhaps in an advisory capacity (given the state of women in the upper levels of gov't in NA) Falconsbane: drug lord, or running a psychic con game (Why of course I can contact Aunt Sally for you. Please bring 5,000 in cash the next time you visit. Thank you) That's all for now, as my son is using the keyboard for a race track, makes it very hard to type. There she would help all the people and live like a country doctor. Van: well now he would be one who worked behind the scenes like a pr person. Possibly as an EMT but i think that would be too exposed for him Stef: He would be a great musician who worked withone of the better conservatories. Here he would be a recluse who produce great ballads and inspired many musicians Falconsbane: he would be a big corporate head honcho. Making deals and controlling people. He would have to be in control of a company that made the world revolve. Seleany: She would be a diplomate. She would help the world come to grips with the evil that Falconsbane created with his company. Reading these have made me go back and reread all the books. You mustn't forget Elsbeth. She would be an ambassador. Always working behind the scenes. Skiff of course would be a world leader. Always ready with a joke and straight to the point when it came to putting things into prespective THere are many others that would have influence if they came today. It definitely made me think. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 Jan 1999 17:03:13 EST From: MagicsPrms-+AT+-aol.com To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: One last thing then I shut up about the movie list & stuff Message-ID: <5cda6647.369923a1-+AT+-aol.com> I have to say that Stefano D. is perfection.
