Just taking a break from Hamlet - I'm doing a reserch paper on playacting within the play, and if I do that for much longer, Ophelia won't be the only one singing songs and playing with flowers. (although flowers are damned hard to find in Canada in January...) Anyways, enough griping. ;P On what chars would be today, well ... Talia: I see her working in the inner city somewhere as a guidance councillor or a soup-kitchen worker/confidante. Vanyel: Ok, that's tough. As either an actor (I can see our peacock in Hollywood!) or a really vocal Amnisty International front member. Elspeth: An international coroprate leader. Like Bill Gates, except scarier. ;P Won't say anything more in pity for those that are ready to strangle anyone who mentions anything even REMOTLY resembling the casting thread. Chocolate soliloquoy sheep to all in appology! On 4&20 Blackbirds: There was a mention somewheres about raven and Magpie still living in burnt Kingsford with the Duke. I thought it said somewheres that Raven didn't like living in cities (even though Magpie DID) so why are they still there? I wonder if maybe they compromised and travel for only part of the year, or if Raven finally gave in and decided to bear claustrophobia for Magpie's sake. (not likely) Well, I had better go before I start drawing parallels between Last Herald Mage or Firebird and Hamlet. ;P Oh, and before I forget, Daine asked: >Anyone watch Animaniacs? Yes! Perhaps I'm just a glitch in the system :-) But tell me your ideas! Oh boy oh goy. You just know, I guess. We just know. Like, when we're appart, like now while she's at school, it HURTS. Without a lifebond most people grow appart when they're appart, but whenever she comes back to town......Um.....smut comes here, so I should stop......Don't want to insult any young ones around here.......:) But really, there is something really special about it. You can just feel it. My ashke said this: (snip snip) Lifebonds are really quite extraordinary, and disturbing actually as well. Not disturbing in a bad sense, but when you first recognize that you have one, it's very scary. I myself often marvel at how completely it is integrated into my life (and thus, in turn, how much Davin is integrated in my life). And to answer the question of how Vanyel could lifebond twice... Well, in actuality, he didn't. Now, I may get some arguments about this one, but the soul of a person never dies, it only takes on a new form (according to my personal beliefs)--also known as reincarnation. But once two souls lifebond, it is their destiny to always be lifebonded. Like Davin said, no matter the form, you will always be inescapably connected to the soul of your shay'kreth'ashke. And, it is true, being separated once you have recognized and acknowledged your lifebond can be complete torture for both parties. Which often leads me to wonder why I am seeking further education that happens to be 6 hours away from my ashke, but that is a different story... Further, lifebonds do not break, unless through some tragic means usually undertaken by one or both of the lifebonded members. Even then it isn't very plausible, and the other fact is why would you want to. Granted, sometimes it can be a major pain having a lifebond (;P), but when you have connected so fully with another human being, to separate the lifebond would be to completely remove half of your "self". To put it into (very crude) physical terms, it would be like separating conjoined twins or amputating one full side of your body. Breaking the bond leaves two incomplete people. I realize that this sounds highly co-dependant, but it really isn't... it's love. 'Lendel coming back as Stephan (to utilize another very simple analogy) is not unlike re-covering your favorite pillow. The outside may be different, and the new cover might be newer and possibly even "better" (although that could often be debated), but all the stuffing inside is still the same... still your favorite pillow. (end snip) That's my ashke for ya'all. Ain't she a sweety? See why I'm in love? (Davin has a wistfull dreamy face on right now. Ah, I'm in love....Did I mention we've been together close to two years and it STILL feels like this!) I think that's all for now. Later! It occured to me that, since I am one of the newest newbies on the list (I signed on just before Christmas break) that I haven't properly introduced myself. My name's Kristy, but you can call me by any of my aliases, and I'm 17, in grade 12, and waiting for Diploma exams to end. I love to listen to Cletic music (Great Big Sea and Loreena McKinette (I don't think I spelled her name right)), I love fantasy&science fiction (Misty was one of my first Big fantasy series that I loved aside from StarWars (I nearly have every book except for a few) and StarTrek (and I don't have enough of those). I'm taking piano (I'm currently sitting at grade 5. Next year I'll be taking my grade 6 Exam)and I like to sing and experiment on my guitar playing. Oh yeah! What did you listsibs get for Christmas? Lets see. I got a tin flute, books (the rest of the Captain's Table series, Winds of Fury, Journey to Sorrows End (paperback form), Quest's End and Captives of Blue Mountain, and the newest trilogy in StarTrek the Next Generation based entirely on Q and Picard (to *good* characters in my oPINIon). I also got Fire In the Kitchen, Parallel Dreams (not as good as the Book of Secrets), Lands of Passage, Good Morning Vietnam (LOVE Robin Williams!), and I bought the Riverdance soundtrack (Mmm, Irish setp dancing) and a Natalie McMaster C.D. (She's VERY good.) And my favorite present from my parents was a blue topaz pendant (yum!). You listsibs remember my rant about women not being able to ride off into the sunset? Well, I might as well adjust that. I just read a REALLY good book called the Peral of the Soul of the World written by Meredith Ann Pierce (she's the one who wrote the Firebringer, the Darkangle, and A Gathering of Gargoyels (my favotries in the seires) and, although the main character Arielle IS married can't stay with her husband and goes off with Erin (a very coo person) to become the world's heir. Good book although it is sad. Love, Light and Laughter, Kristy (a.k.a. Noema, Dewshine, Starsong, and Silverstorm) P.S.:A couple days ago I read Hidden Years one to four. All I have to say is I LOVE Moonshade and Dewshine's outfit in that time period! (They're two of my favorite characters aside from Redlance. Elsa, if you ever want to talk about EQ then e-mail me.
