After Auntie Mel described how the virus program worked, you could see that you didn't mean it at all :). Just hope that you're able to get it out of your system sometime soon :). --- For those wondering what the sheep thing is on the list... *rocks in his chair, using his old wise one voice* Many moons ago, when there was no such thing yet as Tremaine, nor Daren, and everyone would fight each other over a found copy of SS3, there was a woman that sent out a sheep as a gift to those on the list. We know not what it was that inspired her, but many believe that it had to do with the many references of sheep that Misty has in her works, especially the last passages of an LHM book. Over time, this tradition grew and grew - mostly in variety, not size, although I have heard of giant sheep patroling chocolate factories here and there... Yes, many sheep, many many... *at this point he begins to mumble things you don't quite hear, closes his eyes, and begins to snore* --- Raven Whitewolf wrote: > In the song where Tamra and Keth sing about being oathbound, there is a >line sung by Keth that say, "You are more than sheildmate now, we are >bound and yet are free, so I make one final vow, that your clan shall >live through me."I thought that sheildmate is emplying a sexual >bond????? Or am I just off my rocker? IMO, a shieldbrother is someone that is in the same group as you are (whether it be merc or what have you). This can be shieldsis too, if you prefer. It was to denote the sense of family that one had with the company that they traveled with. As far as shieldmate goes, that was the point that someone was committed to another person in the group - partners both on the field and in the tent. I think that Keth says that she and Tarma are more than shieldmates has to do with the fact that with the vow to Tarma's goddess, they became even closer of a bond than a lovebond could be. Their lives were inextricably linked with each other. However, it couldn't be about sex, simply because Tarma was devoid of it completely. As Tarma found out when Keth was dying in OBreakers, she could love someone over her own life even without the sex being a part of it. I think that is what was meant in that passage. Um, I seriously doubt that Spike would make a good Firesong, Angie. For one thing, he has shaved hair, and for another, not the right attitude OR looks. But then again, that is my opinion. I think that's all I have to say except that if anyone is a Beast Wars (Beasties in Canada (don't ask me why they changed their name) and likes to read stories about it, here's one of the largest libraries I've every found: http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Studio/8801; also if you're a StarWars or StarTrek fan, check out this site: http://www.fanfix.com. Happy read! Love, Light and Laughter, Kristy (a.k.a.Noema, Dewshine, Silverstorm and Starsong) P.S.: Did anybody else miss the digest on the tenth? I did, and I was wondering if something was wrong. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Feb 1999 12:27:18 -0500 From: Ellen K Fluharty To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: MERCEDES-LACKEY digest 1873 Message-ID: <19990212.122719.-4002483.0.efluharty-+AT+-juno.com> Heyla everyone, I received the Happy99exe..as a part of my digest setting (receiving everyone's email as one large message) ...it was just an encoded message, there wasn't anything to "open," do I still have to worry about it? I didn't mean to jump down anyone's back, but I had just finished a graveyard shift where the biggest headache was dealing with that stupid virus. I was less than thrilled to see it in my mailbox and just kind of jumped on that email so that hopefully no one would pass the information on. I'm sorry List-Mistress, Shadowblade could not have helped the issue, is is an automatic message, there's nothing that she could have done! Anyone heard what happened to the Shadow-Stalker sheet music book that was supposed to be comming out? I noticed that it had been pulled from the FireBird mailing. Deepest apologies to anyone offended or bothered by the not very nice virus warning I posted!!! I didn't _know_ I was sending off that mail. I got the shock of my life getting it from the list. I remember one of my friends mailing it to me. I really hate myself now. I'm really really really sorry Aunt Mel! I do know the Rules of Thumb, NewbieFest, etc. I never meant to mail that exe file to _anybody_. Never _did_ send any programs to the list in my two years onlist. I know you guys are really p**sed off with me, and damn, but I can't do anything at my side, but apologize! I'm really really sorry... =( *she shuffles off the SoapBox, and disappears into a corner of the Hall along with the other Lurkers* -- ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of MERCEDES-LACKEY Digest 1874 **********************************
