hey! you guys! come on!!! how can you all be so cruel about Elspeth? after reading half a dozen things mentioned about how much you all don't like Elspeth, i felt i had to interfere.

Elspeth (and Skif) has always been my favorite!! i think it's great to finally have a heraldic character that is NOT perfect in every single way. (ex:TALIA). if you guys all have a problem with bitches, you can talk to ME.

-katie throws her arms over her head and ducks behind the soapbox to avoid the barrage of misty paraphanelia being thrown at her.

<THE MOB HAS SPOKEN, BETTER DISAPPEAR FOR A WHILE>

still love you all.

Okay, my favorites. Fave Misty book/s- The Last Herald Mage trilogy, especially Magic's Price. In my mind, they're definately the best work Misty's written, and I like the fact that Vanyel dies at the end ( face it, someone w/ a job as dangerous as his isn't going to die of old age ). Least Fave Misty book/s - The entire Arrows trilogy. I HATED it. They were all very poorly written, and her characterization seemed off, somehow. Fave Misty char - Vanyel. Or maybe Moondance K'Treva ( I never could make myself like Starwind, for some reason ). Least Fave Misty char - Umm, Darian actually. For some reason, he really gets on my nerves. *Mindy smiles charmingly at everybody, and takes off after a passing ghost sheep. * - Mindy the Ghostbuster Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Mar 1999 20:24:18 EST From: Dainestar-+AT+-aol.com To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: most and least favorites Message-ID: Ok, ok, after having kept up a nice lurking record, I shall delurk and add my opinion to the ever-increasing list of "favorites and least favorites." You all can stand one more such list, can't you? *blinks innocently* Most Favorite Misty series: Well.......I hate to say it, because I am a loyal favorite of Tarma and Kethry, but I'll have to go with LHM for this (which is SUCH an original opinion, I know). It was just a better-written series than the various Oathbooks. Whoever said Oathbound was too much like a bunch of short stories thrown together was right- Misty did the best only she could do but it was still a little choppy. Besides- LHM (especially MPawn) had me crying my eyes out and I don't tend to do that with books. Least favorite series: The Storm trilogy. Definitely. It didn't in the least interest me. Not that I hate Karal, not that I hate Firesong (that much), but the books just did not let me get into them. I'm tempted to say the Gryphon series but I've only read the first four pages of the Black Gryphon so I'm not really in a position to do so. Fave. Non-Misty book: FAR too many to choose just one, but some of them are Robin McKinley's The Hero and the Crown, Tamora Pierce's Song of the Lioness, Phillip Pullman's The Golden Compass, Red Planet, and Francesca Lia Block's Weetzie Bat series. Least favorite Non-Misty book: The Sound and the Fury!!! Ach, I DETESTED that book. It was one thing to have flashes of consciousness switching back and forth at random points in the story- how the HELL can you understand what's going on? Faulkner just annoys me. That's it for now. Sheep to all who like such things.
