Thanks for mentioning it, now that I have them (the duology) on my mind I am going to have to read them. => Good thing I just finished a book up. => One of the few Misty books that I have only read once. Although I must say that Now that I've finished the first two LHM books, I really like the guy. I mean if I had go through half of what he's gone through, well... Let's just say it wouldn't be pretty!!!! Shadowdancer wrote: Like I said earlier, I interpreted that as being the Companion of the Herald who was speaking. Like, let's say the Herald who was speaking was named Joe. Joe's Companion, Taver, asked Alberich's Companion for Alberich's name, and relayed the name to Joe. Joe then tells the other Heralds, "Hey, my Companion says his name is Alberich." That's they way I always thought of it, anyway... Although I myself wonder if Kantor told Alberich his name after Alberich knew what he was, or if Alberich decided he needed a new name, not just "Silver" once his status as a Companion was revealed... In LHM Taver is the Monarch's Own Companion for both of Lancir(?) and Shavri. Also Taver is to be Jisa's Companion when her mother dies (don't know if it happens because I just started MPrice so no spoilers please!!) I'm not sure if this holds true all the way through the series, but I thought I'd mention it :) > >I'm going to add my own question to the list. Probably a stupid question, but does anyone know if Misty is going to write/ has written more books picking up where the Storms leave off?? I would like to know how all of the lands fare now that Magic has returned to it's "natural" state. I imagine the Eastern Empire, Karse, the Hawkbrothers, Iftel, etc would be in shambles. Short spoiler, I know, but since Justyn is reading the storms right now, I didn't want to ruin it any more than it already has been :) Paige wrote: I think it has something to do with their mind set. For instance, He sees the Sunlord as the one true deity, right? SO it would take a profound leap to realize that HIS deity is the same as someone else's deity because he has been raised that the other deity is evil. It is a big step for him to get used to the idea that the Companions and Heralds are not demons. But that is no where near as hard a bit to chew as your deity is shared with another country, that doesn't worship him the same way. I think I'm done rambling on that subject now :) E N D SPOILER Chocolate-covered, Peppermint Cream Sheep to you all, Margaret ------------------------------ Date: 3 May 99 14:27:25 PDT From: Liss To: Mercedes Lackey Mailing List Subject: Sleep, I need sleep...oh yeah, I mean braid and possible spoilers... Crescent Moon: Sorry, I'm sick of this. I've had it appear _8_ times in my in box just this morning. It is more than likely just a good old-fashioned "urban legend". Possible Werehunter and Storms S * P * O * I * L * E * R * S Ellevaranachai Shay'Nara'Val: Exactly my point. The wording is very ambiguous. Margaret (twice): This is what I was referring to, the "co-inkydink" of the names. I wonder. Karal's mind gets _really_ open the by the end of the series. I had to hold off finishing Storms (d**n library) and am just now reading Breaking. After reading about Vkaendyis (sp?) it really makes me wonder if she's not going to end up telling us that there's really only two Gods/Goddesses in Velgarth. After all, in Oathbound doesn't the Star-Eyed tell Kethry that of course She knows her, She's just another face of her (Keth's) Windborn Soulshaper? In Breaking, Andesha wonders what the link between Vkandis and the Shin'a'in goddess was. The Avatars seemed drawn to Karal and he to them.
