He grabs a sit and sits down, as though extremely exhausted. "hello, all. I've returned from the depths of the kingdom of the Lurkers," he says. "Meep," says Rhiannon, the gold fire-lizard he is impressed to. "Hello to all the Newbies who've sprung up while i've been adventuring in Lurkdom. And hello to everyone who actually remembers me. I've been so busy it isn't even fun anymore in r/l. blah. Work Sucks. (to quote the Office Space poster). Anyway....I've seen Star Wars (no, I'm not going to give any spoilers) twice, and i loved it, although i do think it could have been better if Lucas himself hadn't directed it. Any way...on to the Misty portion of our letter." ***END FLUFF*** I just bought and read Werehunter, and I loved it. I'd never read the Skitty stories before, and I enjoyed reading how Alberich got chosen. I also liked reading the two Di Tregarde stories, as she is one of my favorite of Misty's characters; especially the story that was the original version of Children of the Night. I, for one, would definitely like to see a full length novel about Grey the African Parrot. For those who haven't read Werehunter yet, it's set in Victorian England, at a school for children whose parents are away in foriegn countries, and the headmistress of the school is like Di Tregarde of the Victorian Era. Let's see, anything else...nope, nothing i can think of for now, although i'm sure there was something else i wanted to write about...I do agree with the theory that Sci-fi/Fantasy is our modern mythology, though. Oh yeah, one more thing...I heartily recommend Worlds in Collision by Immanuel Velikovsky (there is a website at http://velikovsky.collision.org/index.htm that has some of his essays on world catastrophies and explains rationally, using the myths of various world cultures, how some biblical events could have been literally true. For the condensed version of the thesis of Worlds in Collision, I recommend God is Red, by Vine Deloria, Jr. It uses Velikovsky's thesis as a point to show the difference in religious thought between Native America and Western Civilization, and he also wrote a book called Red Earth, White Lies, in which he does the same comparison between the Native American and Western views on History. Well, that's all for now, i've made this post longer than i intended...wow. I didn't realize i could say this much at one time.
