For some reason...it just seems to me as if its all THOUGHT. It seems somehow different to me then the rest of the books that she has written. >> yeah, it seems to me that that's how Owlflight went, too. Mayeb it's because it described mostly the everyday life of the Tayledras- although, their everyday life was new to me, so it was interesting. Also, a lot of the story (esp. the first half) had to do with Darian's faults and mental abuse, so there wasn't much excitement and intrigue in the Tayledras pondering over child psychology. Alright everyone, I'm excited, cos I'm starting Magic's Pawn! Since my library didn't have a copy, I didn't think of reading it this soon, but since it is a lot of MLML memebers' favorite book, I got it and I'm starting today. :o) ¤Silve¤ (Hopeful) member of the Canadians for World Domination ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Jun 1999 14:15:29 -0400 From: "Dubose, SPC Stephanie" To: listlibs Subject: "The Black Swan" Message-ID: This message is in MIME format. Message-ID: <99062117141427.26955-+AT+-webc02.globecomm.net> Heyla all! And welcome Daniel and Anna and M.S.Novak too. :Hands each of them a towel that she found on the floor: My name's Ember, and I'm pretty new here too. You might need these... :Glances furtively around: but then again, I was never welcomed that way, so who knows? The first Misty book I read was "Lark & Wren" from the Bardic Voices books, I was in 6th grade at the time and really loved it. I tried to read "Winds of Fate" - it was new at the time, I think - and I didn't understand any of it. It took a few years before I tried reading Valdemar books, and then I really liked them. (Starting at the beginning of a large series really helps, doesn't it? =)) On Firesong - I think it was almost necessary for him to be scarred for life, because...well...it brought him more down to earth. He is not vain anymore, which is a good thing, and necessary for his character. I *like* Firesong so much better in the Owl books. And...:blushes: I know that this has been asked a thousand times, but what is the title of the first Di Tregarde book? I know that my library doesn't have it, and I want to get an interlibrary loan for it, but I need the exact title. If anyone could tell me, I would greatly appreciate it. =) wind to thy wings, Lady Ember Echosinger, the choreographically challenged Singer of Fire (yay!) {Jedi Knight in training} ----------------------------------------------- FREE! She took me to her friends house after my whinings of boredom and her friend Jannelle is/was a HUGE fan... she said "stop your whining and read this" She handed me the book that changed my way of thinking forever... "Magics Pawn" I read it in 1 day- nothing else to do and I was enthralled- and I have been hooked ever since. I say I hate to read.... but Misty is really the only author Ill pick up and just jump into- but only the Valdemar works... the rest havent held my attention... Id like to see some MUD's or something along the line but I like Queens Own and its keeping me busy for now.... I have an announcement. Merceds Lackey and Larry Dixon have confirmed that they are going to a convention in New Zealand in 2001, and that is official, and confirmed. Just thought that you would all like to know. I also have a question. We know that those with gifts are usually selected by Companions, and if they are not they become Mages, but what about those people with mind gifts like Fetching, Foresight, Farsight, etc. who aren't chosen. There must be some of them just like there are some with the mage Gift who aren't chosen, and they can't be all bad Mages (Quentin wasn't, and neither was Kethry), so where are all the people with MInd Gifts and what happens to them?. There must be some, look at the WeatherWitch that Talia met. She almost had a sort of Foresight, and it didn't just extend to weather.
