Definitely take Mark's > suggestion and look for another e-mail provider. Yup. If listproc ever gets mail bounced back with a "permanently undeliverable" code, it'll bounce you from the list. If it gets several back with "temporarily undeliverable" codes (e.g. you're over quota), it'll set you to POSTPONE and you won't get any mail until you reset it (to one of ACK, NOACK or DIGEST -- see the FAQ for details of how to do this) Hotmail seems (an outsider's view) to be dreadfully unstable at the moment, especially failing a lot with "mailbox unavailable", whatever that's supposed to mean. This doesn't usually cause mail to bounce, but does cause it to stack up here for significant amounts of time. If you are having a lot of trouble, I do suggest trying another provider, because there's nothing I can do about it from this end if Hotmail is telling me you don't exist. I think it was such a big deal, because so many people thought it was Vanyel's fault that Tylendel died, and since Yfandes was taking so long to Choose, she must be looking for some flawless person. Thus they were shocked when she Chose someone who caused the death of a good Herald. (these are *not* my views...just those of many characters. Including Jaysen, for a time...) Knowing what's happened to other movies based on books, it would be awful. The only people who would like it would probably be those who didn't read and love Velgarth. Hmmm, Oh well back to my fantasy life. I kept writing Zhai'helleva at the end of all of my letters and e-mails, and the non-Misty readers got really confused. ;) I think they've given up trying to understand, though. I did get my mom to start reading the T&K books....I was gonna start her on the LHM books, but my best friend has MPawn... I believe this was mentioned before, but has anyone noticed strange parallels (sp?) between Velgarth and _The_Lord_of_the_Rings_? I'm rereading TLotR, and I've noticed a few things... a) both have a Lake Evendim b)in TLotR, Rohan is a land area, home to horse breeders. Rohan is Talia's Companion. c)In The Fellowship of the Ring, the group is followed by crows, that someone calls *crebain*. Krebain was the name of the wizard that Van fought at the end of MPawn. Same pronunciation (sp?) d) there was something involving the name of two area's being combined to form Valdemar...I just don't remember off the top of my head... I know, I pay way too much attention to strange things....;) There's gonna be a live-action Lord of the Rings movie coming out...I think it's about 5 years from now...(my boyfriend's uncle is doing the special effects!). It'll be interesting to see how mutilated it's gonna be... Zhai'helleva! Message-ID: <894ab4fc.24aaae56-+AT+-aol.com> Hello everyone! Today I was reading Magic's Pawn for the 100th time, and there's still this one passage that is truly, truly puzzling! Perhaps one of you intelligent individuals can tell me what it means...It's on page 53, when Vanyel is just about to leave for Haven and he's getting himself ready in his room, and the sentence is as follows (with some additional sentences before the actual passage, which is the LAST sentence...just to set the mood!): "Black always made him look taller, older--and just a little bit sinister. It was a good choice for a confrontation. It was also the color of death; he wanted to remind his father of just how often the man had Vanyel--elsewhere." Had him "elsewhere"? What!? Please, clarify what that means! Thanks! I just read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy a month ago or so for the first time (having run out of Valdemar books) and I noticed the same thing lookign at the map. I got kind of confused at all the similarities, but I realized something a long timne ago that still applies. Most writers are influenced by things that they have read in the past. For instance, most scifi readers aren't going to write mystery books. So somehow, these things in the LotR may have influenced the world of Velgarth. I mean, that trilogy was written at least thirty or forty (more, I think) years ago. A lot of people have read these books, so I would guess that a lot more authors than you notice are influenced by this kind of thing. That's just my personal observations. This is my first post or so... please don't kill me. :) Shalara _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web.
