Does anyone know if ML has any plans for one. I don't think she does, but if you like Native American elements, then you might want to look at the third in the Godmother series by Elizabeth Scarborough. It's set in New Mexico and is based on Navajo and Hopi legends (and the real conflicts between the two groups). Did I forget to mention that Elizabeth Scarborough is an amazing writer and that all of her books (with the exception of Healer's War, which I never got into) are very, very good? Also, one of the series that I mentioned in my previous post (The Tales of David Sullivan by Tom Deitz) is a must for anyone who likes Native American fantasy writing (particularly Cherokee). The NatAm elements come into the story in the third book (Darkthunder's Way) and are amazingly well-researched and accurate. Subsequent books blend Old World Faerie and Cherokee cosmology and folklore. Message-ID: <19990703233753.2664.rocketmail-+AT+-web905.mail.yahoo.com> Hi, My name is Sarah. I am a HUGE Mercedes Lackey fan. I am 14 years old and discovered her books when I was 12. I have read 15 of her books. 14 of which are from the Valdemar Series. I think she is a great writer and I plan to keep reading her work until I read all of it, which will take a long time. I just joined so I haven't recieved any mail yet but I will write again soon when I have gotten something. 'Til then... -Sarah _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Message-ID: <19990704101644.19422.rocketmail-+AT+-web601.yahoomail.com> Heyla List-Sibs! I know I'm not supposed to post short notes, but this is a test as well as a post because I just changed addresses. Hotmail kept ticking me off. Someone (sorry, in the switch I lost it!) asked what other authors we might recommend besides Misty. I've seen a few recommendations that I'll follow up on, but here's my two-cents: David Eddings: His Belgariad, Mallorean, Elenium, and Tamuli series are wonderful. I'm going to have to buy them again because I've worn them out along with a few of Misty's books. Christopher Rowley: I can't put his Dragon books down. Very good character developement in my eyes. Lisanne Norman: More good character developement as well as world description (if you know what I mean). My last one is Douglas Niles: His Three Waters books were great too. Of course, it's all in the eye of the beholder, isn't it though? So much for a short post! === ---<---<---<----+AT+- Li'nia Stormdancer -+AT+---->--->--->--- Stormdance k'T'more y Kuus, Peon to the Powers That Be, Devotee to the OoUH, (Hopeful)Goddess of All Things Possessed, Mindmate to Styx A'ska, Caretaker of the Arena of Discussion and Dissention _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? As far as I remember, the only short stories in S&S were about those two yes. > And are all those stories which were > published in Sword & Sorceress also put together in > Oathblood? Yes. Hope that helps. Someone ( sorry forgot name - bad delete finger, bad! ) asked about other authors. Here are my suggestions: David Eddings Raymond E. Feist C. S. Friedman ( really, really good!!!!! ) Terry Pratchett I could sugest a lot more, but it would take up to much space. If anyone is interested in other suggestions, then mail me PRIVATELY, and I'll write back with a looong list. Sarah wrote: >Hi, My name is Sarah. I just joined... Hi Sarah, welcome to the list.
