I think it says that somewhere in the book, but I assure you that if if it doesn't say that in Werehunter, "Wet Wings" is in SoF2. Last story. I have it. ^_^ I've never read and of the Witch World anthologies, but I doubt it would be in there. It almost seemed to be about Misty, in a way, in the future. (I'm not crazy... she mentions having written a controversial trilogy about a gay mage...) It was a sort of "No matter what happens, creativity will always find a way to survive". There are always heroes waiting to be made, and whether they were heroes in their previous lives, or dastardly villains making up for their evil deeds in this new turn of the wheel, they're still heroes. Different rules in what > is allowed? I can see this as being the case. Valdemar is watched over by a multitude of deities, so the Companions must listen to them all. That, or they're supposed to just do their own thing, considering the fact that listening to all fo the deities would get confusing :). A good question would be whether or not the deities have some sort of a council that they all sit in to tell the Companions what to do while they are in stasis (or the Havens). That, and what other 'laws' they also come up with, such as the one where they limit their own powers. --- Ken wrote: >>Well, there's no reason to assume that the Star-Eyed is the only deity with avatars.<< True. I was hoping not to imply that I thought otherwise :). >>And since we particularly have no evidence that the Companions are servants of the Star-Eyed, there is no real reason to assume that they have to be *her* avatars *snip*<< Oh, I wasn't suggesting that.. merely using the Star-Eyed as an example, as it's the only time in textevd where we have a major deity meeting a Companion. >>In fact, we know that Vkandis has Companion-like servants, the Firecats (although it's less clear that they are avatars).<< As pointed out in the rest of the post, it's hard to really tell what Misty's version of avatars are like. I was going more by what Dawnfire and (can't remember his name) were like, and the actions that they could and could not do for the Star-Eyed :). --- Lisa Holcomb wrote: >> my husband got two job offers yesterday when we were entirely without hope for even one!!!<< Yay!!!!! Van went first after the pass, then after Stef had completed his "penance" (at least that's how I see it, he had to make up for his previous life) by creating the songs and helping with the adjustment to no herald mages he was allowed to join van and van's companion in the forrest. Would it be in the body of a Herald or Companion, or something else? I'm asking this because usually a Herald comes back as a Companion and a Companion comes back as a Herald. However, Stef has been both a bard and a Herald. Plus, if Van's SOUL had to come back (probably as a companion), you can make a bet that Stef will too, but as what?
