Some have e-mailed me, and some have just expressed an interest on the list -- I just want to say that I have seen these, but my life has been nuts, so nothing has happened. Also, I'm on 10 or so different mailing lists on this e-mail account, so things tend to get lost in my inbox. If you e-mail me at that one it's a lot more likely I'll do something about it, as I actually clean out that inbox sometimes :) ObMisty: The Cover of BTS Does anyone else just shake their head when they look at this cover? I mean, it's nice artwork and everything, but can you believe what Kero's wearing?! The halter-top armor that has a weird turtleneck thing and spikes on the shoulders. And I can't see Kero wearing those colors -- she'd be wearing simple brown leather type stuff (IMO). And then there's the sash around her waist -- that's going to get caught on her hilt, and in her stirrups, and who knows where else. Kero is way too practical a warrior to wear something like that. Sorry for the rant, but generally, whether the cover actually looks like I think the character would, I can at least see where they're coming from. But this one has me baffled (except that maybe to emphasize that she was an out-Kingdom merc, and thus eminently strange -- but they could have done that and still fit her character, I think). I mean if being shaych is only the body, then Yfandes and Vanyel can come back as Heralds and lovers or lifebonded, and Stefen can be Vanyel's companion. But shaych-ness is within the soul, then maybe Van and Stef as Heralds, and Yfandes as Van's companion, or Van and Stef as shaych companions and Yfandes as Van's chosen. I agree with you. :) I'm honored enough to live in Phoenix, Arizona and to be an active member of the SCA. I met Leslie serveral years ago (And she's going to shoot me if I don't finish making that garb for her, thank you for bringing up her name and reminding me.) Every year after the main SCA war down here, in February, we get her over to our place to record an impromptu tape. The "Sore after the War" series is four tapes strong now, and soon to grow by another. She loves hearing that others enjoy her music... and I'll be certain she gets to read this email.
