First off I guess I should introduce myself since this is my first post (though I've been lurking for quite awhile now). As to who I am some of you on AOL might know me as my role playing persona "Herald Kalma" (sn: KalmaShait). IRL I'm a female college student at U of M (Flint, Michigan). My "real" name is of little importance, because people don't know me by it. The name I typically go by is Kory, which as Misty fans would know is short for Korendel (yes, I know the spelling is different). Another Misty fan gave me the nickname for a variety of logical reasons, and it just kinda stuck. I've been reading Misty books for amost a strait year now, and have read almost everything out there. My all time favorite is the LHM trillogy, but so far there hasn't been anything that I hate... Now onto the real Misty content... Warning- possible Jinx High SPOILER- Be prepaired... I just finished reading 'Jinx High' and it must be said that I was a little tiny bit disapointed by the ending. It seemed like an easy-out so that all the loose ends wouldn't have to be tied up. As much as I have enjoyed the other DT novels, this one seemed very unfinished. Now I suppose that may be so that it can be left open to continue in another book, but it really bothers me. Does anyone else see my point?? One thing I liked about 'Jinx High' in comparison to the other DT books, is the tie ins. I really love how The DT books tie in with the 'SERRAted Edge' books, which tie in with the 'Bedlam' books, which... Her Urban books all seem to hook together, just like all the Valdemar books do. Thats one thing Misty seems to do that none of my other favorite authers (with the exception of Charles DeLint) do. I guess that's all I'll say for this posting. I have several other Misty things that I'd like to get oppinions on, but they can wait untill another mailing. For now I'm off to fininish 'Lammas Night'. I was disappointed because I thought that DT had missed something very important. She had no clue that she had not gotten the real bad guy. Sure she thought she had, but don't you think she would have felt something was off kilter. She totally dismissed the daughter-in-mother's-body's story of the identity switch. It is slightly unbelievable, (ok more than slightly, but DT does deal with the paranormal on a regular basis) but still when the mother was instantly well after the daughter was killed all sorts of alarm bells should have gone ding-ding-ding-ding. I'm not really explaining this well, so I'll stop now. I was just left with a vaguely dissattisfied feeling at the end, going "But...but...how could Diana miss that?" Soothing sheep music for everyone, so you can sleep easy. Jadzia __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
