We see ourselves in him; our own struggles in a sympathetic view. His is a story of hope and inspiration, through terrible odds. Of going on instead of giving up; even when you know it's for a hopeless cause. I'd quote Man_of_La_Mancha once more, but I no longer have my script. I agree that LHM is Misty's best work; I think it's beautifully written. It's more lyric than other books, with touching wording and imagery. It's a good balance of action and introspection. I found it the most vivid, the most deep, and the most moving. For me, it will always stand alone among Misty's work. Please, please, please, can someone tell me how to join the OAM? Chocolate fudge sheep for whoever can do this. Someone asked what the OAM was. I forget who...Bad delete finger! Sorry. OAM stands for the Order of Amber and Marigold. We are the Order that protects Van from accusations that he's whiney, self-centered, a brat, etc. We've gotten a reputation for it (don't ask me when, I only joined a couple of years ago), so you won't see many people attacking Van on this list. There's a better explanation in the Newbie Fest as well as instructions for joining the OAM. I'd give the address for the Newbie Fest, but I don't know what it is. Oh, BTW, to whoever it was that said Vanyel was a brat (don't worry, this is not a flame. I don't believe in flaming.), I believe he only qualified as a brat for the duration of the first book, _Magic's_Pawn_. And I personally feel that he had partially mitigating circumstances.
